    Except this ignores so much.

That's 2 completions a game without missing a throwing gets him to 60%, something he's never done before. If he threw for 60+% in his first 3 years and this year dropped this argument makes much more sense as a rebound, but there is guarantee he completes those 2 extra passes a game without missing.

That's 2011 though, we had 2012 happen to Sanchez. We don't have Tom Moore anymore. According to this, Phil was below us in RZ TD % last year. Below us!

Again you are taking away turnovers, something Sanchez has only limited once in his career. If the norm was a low turnover% like Stafford, this makes sense. But the norm is he's a high turnover guy. This OC either needs to figure out how to lower the turnovers, or if he can't do that, live with them and get Sanchez to score a lot more.

To be fair though, Edwards this past year is much different than Edwards from 2010. Besides that, you are correct as in weapons is not the end all be all for why Sanchez struggled. Some of it is on him and his decision making.

    This,:beer::beer:

I agree about some Regression he seems to lack that pocket presence that he had when he was confident in the o-line.

Confidence and comfort are amazing things. That is why Peyton was aloud to change the offense in Denver it is why Favre scrapped Schotty's BS offense. Sparano proved to be incompetent yet Sanchez still had some pretty good games last year despite all that. I thought he was weathering the storm of injuries and incompetence pretty well last year until the Butt Fumble which destroyed him mentally.

Mark has a few things in his favor this season finally a competent OC what does that mean? Confidence is an amazing thing when you start trusting the design of the play the scheme you play more open and fundamentals all of a sudden become less of in issue.

Lets not forget MM took Vick from a mid 50% completion percentage to a high 50s low 60s percentage and that was mostly scheme. Vick did not all of a sudden become more accurate with the football. This is from a Qb that has more trouble than Mark reading defenses.

This is his 5th year no matter what the defense throws at him he at least has seen it and now hopefully Marty can help with the rest.

The third thing Mark has going for him is that he plays well against the patriots in the two losses last season.

    Game 1

    68% 328 yards 1 pick 1 td QB rating of 90.3

    Game 2

    72% completion percentage 300 yards 1 TD 1 Pick QB rating 94.8

And he gets them Thursday night. After opening day, with little cilm on the Jets running MMs Offense.

Tampa,NE,Buffalo,Tenn. could lead to a nice start.

Holmes was out after game 3, kerley was our #1 WR the majority of the season. I like him, he's a good slot guy but on any decent team he's a 3rd or 4th option not 1st.

Keller played a little week one but wasn't healthy from his preseason injury, at no point was he healthy during the year.

The name Braylon Edwards is nice but we got him late in the year when the season was lost and he was coming into a new system.

a good portion of the year the 5 guys I listed were his top weapons.

As far as RGIII, he had a great year but he also had a dynamic RB, santana Moss as old as he is would have easily been our #1 WR, Garcon when healthy would have been #1 for us too PLUS RGIII could run too and a big part of his game was creating plays w/ his legs. Can he do that long term? we'll see.

MM has been an OC for 6-7 years in the NFL. I'm sure Bill Belichick can pull up some old Eagles tape.

I think we have a slightly better than average chance of winning, but it won't because BB is just completely dumbfounded by Marty's offense. That's just naive.

BB does very little on the defense side of the ball these days most of his time is spent with O.

I've noted this before...it just doesn't seem to register. Tape of MM with better weapons and better QB play is meaningless I guess.

"slightly better than average chance of winning"?

Much as I'd like to agree with that, it's kinda early to claim that.

That's what's great about the Jets...every game is an adventure:breakdance:

I only say that because we seem to play New England more competitively in our first game and get blown the hell out the second. I'm hoping that changes for the better this year.

What's the over/under on how many times the NFL Network shows the "butt fumble" during the game?

Depends on if Sanchez starts and we beat Tampa Bay.

Min of 5 max of 10.

During the game probably not a lot but leading up to the game? it will be shown at least 100 times during the week.

Trust me, they'll have it cued up and ready to roll if Sancho even bobbles the ball.

I wish the season started this coming Sunday. Three more months of offseason is going to be painful.

Different personnel. Unless you hink we are gerring McCoy etc...l

MM has a reputation for molding to his players. So, the odds are a little better...

    Its a fairly simple point.

Yes. Ive noted this before, and it doesnt seem to register, on of MMs stregnths, is molding to his players.

Do you really think he is calling the same plays for Nacho, as he did for Vick?

    :rofl2:

Rex OTOH is dealing with a known, on both sides of the ball.

I was unaware Marty Morningweg walked on water, Hobbes. (although that might be easier than making Sanchez good)

He turns into a better OC every day with you. This season is going to be very interesting with you when you are let down.

If he can wring some production out of the Jets offensive personnel, I'll be happy. Move the chains, keep the defense off the field, etc.

If he gets pass happy with Sancho under center, we may have problems.

Belichick has been dealing with Sanchez for four years. Your point might work if Geno was starting since Belichick will have little NFL film on him...
