    New York Jets ‏@nyjets 1m

The New York Jets have signed WR Ben Obomanu and have placed QB David Garrard on the reserve/retired list.

Looking at him on Wikipedia, he seems meh.

Seahawks guy ... seems like a 4th/5th WR type guy who can be an occasional deep threat. Sounds like he's a very good special teams guy, which is likely where he'll earn his pay check if he makes the team.

I've heard of him...look for this to be an add to the competition at WR, bring some depth and an add to special teams.

We're already enemies of ESPN and NFL Network. We don't need to have Fox joining into the mix and calling us a circus/harbor for Muslim terrorists (JOKE)

This more than likely closed the door on Braylon Edwards

Idk this guy is just a special teamer and a body for TC.. but if you're right, that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO

Braylon's done. Time to move on. You'd think he was Jerry Rice with the way people talk about him on this board anyway.

I was happy when they picked him up at the end of last season but at this point Clyde Gates is better than him.

We still need some competition with the 'top" guys. I want Lloyd. He's a solid player that can definitely contribute, oh well.

I don't know much about Lloyd, but I want a saavy vet with reliable hands who's a good route runner, for a safety valve and a mentor for the young WRs...

Does Lloyd exhibit those characteristics, Laxin?? If so then I'm on your bandwagon...

If its not Braylon then it should be another vet that can help mentor the young receivers and mentor Geno or Mark. Braylon was solid last year with the Jets it wouldn't hurt to see him back next year. Maybe he can be that vet.

Honestly, that would describe him to a T. He's got phenomenal hands and ability to adjust to the ball and he's a solid route runner that has some shiftiness to him. He's not that old at 31 and when he was in Denver he was able to stretch the field. He has little ability after the catch, but at this point we just need people who can get open and catch the ball.

As a 4th receiver that could even alleviate some pressure off Hill as the #2, I think he would be a very good pick up... He shouldnt cost much either being that he's still on the market.

He didn't look like a good mentor with his typical Braylon being Braylon bonehead Personal Foul penalty in Buffalo last dec. That was a dumbass play and really hurt the team.

He also has had issues with catching the football, he's not the vet this team needs.

Okay, you got me sold. Now just call your buddy John Idzik and get this thing done. I like what I hear.
