After these 4 games, neither team can compalin about flopping, they both do it egrigiously and no regard for the game. They both also whine a lot. <stares at David West and Dwyane Wade>They also fall down a lot, now looking at Hibbert and Wade.
The 24 second call was BS, Wade's travel was very questionable, but I still have no problem with Lebron's foul. He plays with a sense of entitlement, even with five fouls. That's plain stupid.
I don't see how that LeBron foul was a foul at all. And Wade's travel didn't look like a travel either.
Agree on his reactions. The boy who cried wolf, although I think a few of his fouls were questionable, but it's just strange seeing him foul out or get into foul trouble. Conspiracy to get the big market Pacers against the high octane, exciting, drama filled Spurs team in the finals
Seems like the useless refs really took that final few minutes off...That shot call violation was terrible as well.
LeBron's foul was not only a foul but is called all of the time. he was out of position for the screen, and if he moved into the defender would have been called for a foul. so instead he stuck his leg out into the defender, hoping to trip him up and the ref wouldn't see it. that is unquestionably a foul.
On the off day, fun little story: Love Hollinger's tweet http://deadspin.com/quincy-pondexter-gets-date-with-miss-tennessee-thanks-t-510386438
No question. and that was hardly a clear without a doubt call. I see guys get away with more blatant illegal screens all the time. Even the announcers felt it wasn't a foul.
http://www.nba.com/official/ Boom, Lebron, David West, and Lance Stephenson fined 5,000 each for flopping. About time too.
I didn't say they were or weren't correct. I'm pointing out that most people felt it wasn't a foul, so it was hardly clear cut like you make it out to be. Less than 39% agree with you. As for the announcers, they get it right most of the time. You want me to post every time they're correct in their assertions? I point out the mistakes, since those are supposed to be out of the ordinary.
It's funny, the poll you are referring to has the first option of it being the correct call because "Lebron stepped on Stephenson's foot." I would vote against that as well, because Lebron clearly didn't step on his foot. The second option is basically staying that you don't call a foul because of the magnitude of the situation. Also a pile of shit option. Maybe that's why people are voting that way. Because the poll is deceptive in nature. But he wasn't set during the screen and moved his leg to impede Stephenson, and that is clearly a moving screen and a foul.
the fact that you state you have seen others "get away with more" inherently means it was a foul, simply not as egregious of a foul as other fouls that players get away with, since you are comparing LeBron's foul to those others and simply stating it wasn't as bad, and if the others weren't called than this shouldn't have been called either. problem is than the issue isn't whether it is a foul, but whether fouls should be called correctly or not, and you are advocating not calling fouls correctly. if that is the case, why even have the rule at all if it is so meaningless that it shouldn't be called?
I am saying it was a ticky tack call in that situation, I didn't see as a clear cut foul; in fact few did see it as a clear cut foul. What you go by is not what the rulebook says, it's how the situation is generally called. Refs have never gone strictly by the rulebook. If they did, there would be no issue. But the vast majority of the time that does not get called. No, because most would ignore the wording, they're voting on whether or not it was a good call. Should LeBron have been whistled for a foul? So obviously it was not a clear cut foul.
