I'm a little less pissed this morning than I was last night, the diving and the officiating were an absolute disgrace but we didn't deserve to win. The performance was flat, we had no jump, and too many players had a quiet or flat out bad night. The Smith-Zibanejad-Neil line was awful, Gonchar had his worst game in a Sens jersey since his first season with us, Cowen alongside him was once again terrible, Spezza and Turris both gave the puck away too much (I lost count of the number of no look drop passes that went to no-one on the Pittsburgh blue line) and the transition game was way too slow.

Sens are in a similar situation, simply playing a better team. It's not alwys what our teams aren't doing right, but what the opponents are doing. Pen's put on a clinic last night.

Let's face it the Pens only weakness is in goal and occasionally some loose play around their net. If fleury didn't melt down they would have swept the Isles while playing pretty poorly overall.

Pens/Bruins will be an interesting series........

I just heard about this while watching a Cubs/Pirates game. Inge played 11 seasons in Detroit.

    http://www.freep.com/article/201305...ttsburgh-penguins-detroit-tigers-brandon-inge

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates are wearing Penguins hockey jerseys on their road trip to Milwaukee and Detroit that begins with a flight tonight, but former Detroit Tigers infielder and alleged Red Wings fan Brandon Inge might have trouble getting through airport security.

Inge took the support for Pittsburgh’s NHL team, which leads its playoff series against Ottawa, 3-1, to an extreme before today's game when he entered the clubhouse in a Mario Lemieux jersey – plus full hockey gear and rollerblades.

    You hearing this, Red Wings?!?!?!

Don't really understand as the Wings are alive, but #66 was a wizard so whatever, can't knock that selection.

1-0 Bruins after a powerplay tally.

Wings win! They take an improbable 3-1 series lead back to the Windy City. Howard stood on his head.

Pat Roy hired as Colorado's new HC. He is quite a character, looking forward to some funny pressers.

I don't agree with the hire, given his past coaching exploits.

Obviously he's a popular figure there, though, and given the responsibility they've given Sakic, it's obvious where they're headed with this.

LA is all over SJ tonight. 2-0 in the 3rd, LA cruising and I'm ready for bed.

LA power play very damaging to the Sharks because it chews up 2 minutes they needed for a comeback.

Loving the look of the lines for Ottawa tonight:

    Michalek - Spezza - Alfredsson
    Greening - Turris - Condra
    Smith - Zibanejad - Silfverberg
    Conacher - Pageau - Neil

Top line is proven quality playing together, second line gives us a lot of speed and threat, third line reunites Zibby and Silf who love playing together, and fourth is mighty dwarfs with a lot of physicality. Four genuinely good lines, if we're going to go down we're going down fighting.

In not so good news, proven Sens-hater Dan O'Rourke is refereeing. At least we know he's going to penalise us for every single thing that the Penguins choose to sell to him.

Like John Wayne said in The Longest Day "Your mission is of strategic importance, you can't give the enemy a break, send them to Hell!"

Not going to complain about that. It was clearly kicked in, but no more than Zibanejad's was against Montreal.

Refereeing was fine in that period. Sens got a couple of breaks as well as the Pens.
