The people that understand the game realize the circumstances surrounding the 2012 season. Those that don't blindly follow the media that is there to incite fans.
No improvement on any part of his game? Really? He improved in almost all categories every year with the Jets minus 2012, where he lost his 2 best targets for the majority of the year. Sure he could have improved more, but considering what he had to work with last year, I can see why shit hit the fan.
Funny..."get a grip"... when talking about Sanchez. Nobody is freaking out here...whatever happens happens. But fairly or not, Sanchez is under a microscope, and any missteps are going to be scrutinized. Throwing an int. to a nose tackle is gonna raise some eyebrows. Even from "people in the know"...
It's fair to criticize him, it's fair to wonder if he will ever be a good player again, it's not fair to act like he's the worst QB ever, was never any good and has no chance to be good again.
Who is in the know it was the first day of OTA and from the report he was sacked on that play so we have no idea the circumstances. Geno only completed three passes again no big deal it is May. If this is still happening through camp then I will worry.
He took a sack AND threw an interception on the same play? I honestly didn't think that was possible. Go Sanchez!
And here is the writeup from Rotoworld: Mark Sanchez went 6-of-11 with three interceptions in Jets OTAs Wednesday. One pass was picked off by UDFA DT Damon "Big Snacks" Harrison. Geno Smith wasn't much better, going 4-of-10 with a pick of his own. Coach Rex Ryan called Sanchez's display "unacceptable." The Jets' QB competition is going to get worse before it gets better.
Quick, does anyone remember who won the Yankees-Braves Feb. 23rd spring training opener? Of course not. (btw, the Yanks won 8-3). These OTA's are way, way too early to make or take anything out of them, Morningwood's "QB-sooner-than-later" b.s. hints aside. Having said that: vvvv ^^^ tell me this doesn't come off as some claptrap courtesy of the cunt of condescension clamoring from the clouds .... Like the alliteration junc? I'll literate your ass ya snob ;-) back on-topic: If Nacho eventually keeps his job, good for him. I only hope that that 'buttfumble' remains a thing of the past....but just in case, just to be safe, they ought to sew GPS chips inside the pants of Winters, Colon, Petterman and the jihad Brooklyn kid outta UVA. _______________
Sanchez may or may not take a step up this year but all it really likes Rex wants him to do is stop turning the ball over. A rookie QB is usually a turn over machine we seem to be putting all are eggs in the Sanchez basket. I have been one of the biggest supporters of Sanchez on this site but I would not go into the season with Mark and Geno as my QBs. The Jets did not plan on drafting Geno so that leads me to believe Sanchez is was the guy all along. Don't give me this Geno crap he was drafted in the 2nd rd for a reason he was not ready to start right away.
But was it a bad play from Sanchez or a good play from Harrison? Without viewing the play itself, it's kind of narrow minded to instantly blame Sanchez. When Wilkerson tips balls, do you go "YES, Good job Wilkerson!" or "Damn that opposing QB sucks!" With the Jets, it's always because they suck when the opponents play good D, and always because the opposing offense sucks, when our D plays good. It's funny. People almost never look at both sides of the coin.
From the reports, it was typical Sanchez. A play where he should have thrown the ball away he tries to make something happen and it ends up in the wrong hands. This is his fifth offseason. He should damn well know when to throw the ball away by now. It's my biggest argument against him. It's not a physical problem, but a big mental mistake. It's the thing that keeps him from being a serviceable QB more than anything else.
Come on, man. Not only does junc remember that, but he has video recorded of it and has probably posted about it at least 40 times on multiple forums. I give the guy shit, but he is like a Wikipedia for the teams that he follows.
don't ever post just usually read comments and laugh at the people who go crazy over this but how could anyone who watches football possibly defend sanchez
