No I hear ya on Geno. He's a lightning rod right now whether or not it's on his own accord. I do think he's the type of kid that will speak out if necessary though, and that's not completely a bad thing, but could make for an ugly QB competition.

I do think it will be an honest competition, though.

The messed up thing is that last year wasn't an honest competition and it still destroyed Sanchez's psyche. If he can handle competing with a guy who didn't belong on the field and wasn't ever going to take his job, hows he going to be able to handle a real competition.

So playing 'well enough' is acceptable for a so called franchise QB? Sanchez does get credit for helping this team win in 2010. The problem is that you guys act like his 2010 season was the equivalent of Brady in 2007.

Yes the defense has failed at times, Sanchez has no control over that. But the problem is that Sanchez has failed at aspects of the game that he can control. When the offense can't score we look at the QB because it starts there.

They will if he plays like Sanchez, you can bet on it..the difference will be that he hasn't raped the Jets to the tune of 50 million bucks along the way.

Your intimation at the end is basically how I feel it will go. I agree.

Geno is an enigma to us right now. If he's a headcase, we'll probably find out soon, because the media-hyenas have been yipping for some time that they want new stolen flesh.

How he's doing right now is meaningless. It's when he falters on the field as a pro and then has to talk to these dickheads that are paid handsomely to try to piss him off.

If it isn't going to be an exciting season, it will easily be an interesting one.

I don't think tebow really messed him up(except those times he was in rythym and was taken out), I think it was the healthy talent. Remember, he wasn't bad early in the season- even at midseason. He was really bad the 2nd half as the healthy guys were down or going down.

Haha...you really think that means something? I will take Namath's wins a million times over that and he still has the ONLY win that matters.

A top level QB's make the players around them better. Not the other way around.

He was bad the whole year, outside of the opener. I guess if you deduce that the opener is the only game "early in the season" then yes, he wasn't bad "early in the season".. just the 14 other games he started.

The Tebow thing definetely messed him up. A lot of people will like to blame Tebow for that, or the brass for bringing him in, but in reality Mark Sanchez couldn't handle it, and that's on HIM.

Amen. If he's too mentally fragile to deal with a FB playing QB then I dont want him

Way to simple way to look at it. Sanchez is/was a growing QB he was raw coming out of college and that has top be factored in. He was getting better every year although the Jets kept handicapping him. In 2011 WFH almost got him killed and 2012 was total debacle.

You want him to be 7th year Brees or Brady he is not that and definitively not that at year four with how the offense was built. Mark can be as good as Flacco he has shown he can he has not shown he can be as good Brees, Brady and Rodgers. On a team like Baltimore he would be.

Sanchez will rebound mentally I have no doubt with the new OC. What will make him a viable QB is cutting out the turnovers especially the fumbles. He cuts out the fumbles MM will fix the rest.

The elite guys make the players better but w/ that said no one is winning w/ the healthy talent we had last year.

He led the comeback at Miami, he brought us back from 10 down at NE, played really well at SL, if not for JJ Watt we probably beat Hou. It wasn't really until Thanksgiving that his season went completely in the toilet.

I think Tebow hurt his rhythm but his job was never in jeopardy so I don't think that killed him mentally, throwing to Gates and Schilens hurt him mentally.

How many times does this crap line have to be debunked. Great Qbs do not make WRs great or RB great. A great o-line can make both a Qb and RB look great (Troy Aikman comes to mind).

A great WR can bail out a QB but very rarely does a QB make good WR great.

A QB will never make a WR that should not be on an NFL roster look good it just does not happen.

This is why you guys can't be taken seriously.. I know it's pile on Sanchez time, but only ONE QB on that list from 25-35 has a playoff win, and I take Sanchez EASILY over every one of them except maybe Ponder. The fact that you guys look at that list and don't even question Locker, Cassel, Kolb, Freeman, Fitzpatrick, Weeden and Gabbert tells me all I need to know about you

I disagree 100%. Manning made Austin Collie look good. Brees made Meachem look good. Brady made Julian Edeleman look good. Great QBs help mediocre WRs look good and have decent years.

Top level, bottom level, mid level, no one is going to succeed with Clyde Gates, Chaz Schilens, Cumberland, Reuland, Mardy Gilyard, Jason Hill and Jordan White as his weapons.

Yes, Sanchez looked bad... But he had SHIT around him.

C'mon...he was shaky for weeks leading up to the Thanksgiving Day Massacre.

Just the way he responded when the playoffs were at stake tells me his head ain't right. He admitted himself that Tebow affected him.

Rex Ryan came out week after week backing Sanchez...and he came out and played shitty. You can't tell me that that didn't affect the entire team as a whole.

Odds are that he'll start the year, but I have to imagine he'll be on a very short leash.
