Bilal Powell just breathed a huge sigh of relief. I guess he heard that quote from McKnight about "having to kill me" to get him off the roster. Goodson showing initiative, aggressive, I like it.
Sounds like somebody tried to recruit a spy and things went so badly they wound up tieing him up and making him drink until he couldn't drink any more and then they put him in the car with drugs and a gun to seal the deal. No way anybody will believe his story that the Patriots tried to recruit him to spy on the Jets now.
Oh great this is exactly what this team needs. I just hope he's alright but he's gonna ruin his chances to play in the league.
His release must be coming shortly. I guess that whole Benson/Bradshaw discussion is worth having now. Although I think we should just go with Ivory/Powell/McKnight.
McKnight may be a vastly different back in a WCO. I think the Jets do need to add another back though. I wonder how much cap space they'll recoup when Goodson is cut? They'll probably be able to get the signing bonus back given the circumstances of his arrest. If he was pinched in NY he's going to jail for the gun.
McKnight and Goodson are basically the same back in the WCO. Losing him while keeping McKnight isn't a bad thing. But yeah, he needs to be cut, this is inexcusable.
You would think that when you sign a contract worth millions of dollars you'd cut ties with people who can land you in jail. God...
It's disappointing, I think that was a good, under the radar, signing for us. I really liked the duo of him and Ivory but we have to get rid of him.
Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo 13m Goodson was the passenger in the car. The driver was charged with DUI and also possession of a handgun with a prior. So he was the passenger. That might save him his job. Still not a good look, at all.
