He isnt the same player as he was 2,3 and 4 years ago. His mechanics, footwork, pure arm talent, mentality have all regressed. Keep living in the past though...
The problem with Sanchez is he developed David Carr syndrome . all the physical tools are there, it's the mental aspect that's gone to shit. I don't think I've ever seen a QB come back from this type of regression, but I'm hoping he can so we gain a tradable asset.
Exactly. He's in the same boat with the likes of Gabbert, Moore, Jason Campbell etc. only difference is that Mark was fortunate to have been drafted by the Jets. Since they invested so much money in him they had no choice but to stick with him as long as they did.

Just as there are different levels of being a good QB, there are different levels of being a really bad QB. Gabbert and Clausen don't belong in the same sentence as Mark, they brought absolutely nothing to the table. At least in 2010 Mark got us some wins when the defense was playing like shit. Clausen and Gabbert haven't shown any potential as a franchise QB. That is the difference. No poise no pocket presence no awareness. At one point Mark had those traits.
Why don't they belong in the same sentence as him? He's been a bottom 5 QB in 3 of his 4 seasons in the league. Maybe if Gabbert was drafted by (for arguments sake) the Ravens and was named the starter he'd probably win games in Baltimore too. Sanchez was drafted to a team that had a great defense, run game, special teams and oline. If Sanchez gets drafted by Jacksonville he'd been released by now.
You need to read some reports on "Blame" Gabbert. You think Sanchez is bad? Go Google him. Jacksonville has a decent defense and a spectacular running game. So the defense run game thing is irrelevant here. Horrible attitude, doesn't want to get hit in the pocket he's a total pussy on the field in the pocket. Mark sucks we all know but for God sakes find better comparisons. Early years of Alex Smith with Norv Turner those are better examples. Gabbert is THE worst starting QB in the NFL today. Absolutely. Its great that we could make a comparison to guys who have the 2nd highest win percentage in their organizations history (20 starts or more), lead their franchise in road playoff wins, and have been to two championship games in only a four year tenure in which the offense was constantly being turned over.
Okay then tell me what Sanchez does that makes him better? The issues with Gabbert is mostly health and their defense is middle of the pack. Jimmy Clausen was given one year and was benched when they drafted Cam. So it would be impossible for him to have a season like Sanchez (overrated) 2010 and 2011 seasons.
What? thats not how you use QBR. You can't use it to compare to players decades ago. The game is played differently compared to the past and the rules are different. You use QBR to compare with your QB contemporaries not current QB's with those in the past. That's the only point I wanted to make. I'm not getting into this stupid Sanchez fight.

This is true, but it is not an ideal scenario for the Jets to do. The team in 2009 was much much much much stronger than the team now. Maybe this team surprises me, but on paper they aren't close to the 09 talent level but hey that's why you play the game. Granted rookie QBs have succeeded thrown in the fire recently. Separate his individual play from the team play. His rookie year wasn't terrible in the moment, he did his job handing off the ball and running the PA and hitting open receivers, but it was a bad year for a QB. Especially once you consider what other rookies have done since Sanchez so the rookie thrown in the fire loses some of its pull. 4 games. Couldn't I just say go look at the Miami 10-6 game, the BAL 10-9 game, the 9-0 GB game and the 45-3 NE game. Great offensive performances from the Jets. QBR at least tries to measure what a QB does, much better than wins or a drive late in a game. After last year, Sanchez belongs with Henne, Gabbert, any bottom tier QB. I don't see how that can be argued. I think you are being too rough on Sanchez in 2010. His play was very inconsistent which is bad marks on him but I think he was average to slightly above average. He also was very lucky. 9 fumbles and 1 lost. Following 10 fumbles and 3 lost in his rookie year. Statistically the average recovery/loss rate is 50%. The following two years, 10 fumbles 8 lost, 14 fumbles 8 lost. Totality 43 fumbles, 20 lost bringing close to that 50% mark where 2010 season was not close to that mark. Realized I rambled above but my looks on Sanchez's QB play the last 4 years: 2009: Below average to bad. 2010:Average to above average (maybe on the cusp of top 10, I don't have the time or will to watch each QB and their 16 games.) 2011: Above average most of the year, below average where I believe he was hurt at the end of the year. 2012: Bad to terrible. EDIT: Also is the discussion that Delhomme's best season is not better than Sanchez's best season, or that right NOW Sanchez is better than Delhomme?

Whatever. Now we have faith in the media. People "around the league" riggggght. No one accounting for Sparano, or injury. Thats like reading Costello or Mehta. And...as I pointed out..,the moves made by the new GM, indocate that he thinks otherwise.
