Blow yourself. Good for the goose, good for the gander. If you choose to be snarky, have a little hair on your peaches when its served back at you. Dont act like a schoolgirl.

*mods, apologies for the harsh language, but the haters keep pushing it personal, then whine, and in Armands defense hes not the only one that plays that game.

No one, not Junc,Me, or Cval, have made Sanchez out to be flawless. Its you guys that fail to credit anything the guy is done, and go PMS when your emotional arguments are discredited.

    Try Pamprin.

I liked him, I know I am in the minority but I think he did a good job for us and gets far too much blame.

Our WR corps last year that was healthy was as bad as I have seen since 1995 when we had a rookie UDFA from Hofstra starting from day 1.

I did like him, I had issues w/ him too but overall I think he did a good job for us.

a 13 win Denver team that had Jake Plummer as their starting QB, they were not a great team despite a great record and that game has nothing to do w/ Peyton choking.

The '05 Steelers had a better D than the '10 Colts, obviously but the '05 Colts had vastly superior weapons and a much better O than the 2010 Jets, wouldn't you agree? One team had the great peyton manning running them while the other had lowly mark Sanchez yet Lowly mark Sanchez got the job done and the great Peyton failed again.

He had a bad 1st half, it happens. Maybe if peyton has a better 1st half vs. Pitt they win that game? The bottom line is both QBs had the balls in their hands w/ the game on the line- one came through, one did not.

Stats tell us part of the story, coaches talk up stats for motivational purposes. They try to make their players sound better/worse(in rex's case usually better) so please don't put too much stock in coaches discussing stats in post game PCs.

Should Mark's #s be better? absolutely, I don't completely dismiss #s. They tell PART of the story, in 2010 his #s were mediocre but he played much better than the #s, in 2011 his #s were better but he played worse.

I'd appreciate you not posting asinine stuff, thank you.

You would have to go back farther.

Except Holmes, on opening day 2012, there wasnt a wideout on the roster that could carry Chrebets jock.

I don't put the blame fully on Sanchez. But he doesn't get a pass for things under his control. I don't believe you can lump all his problems into the "lack of talent" reasoning. There are decisions he made and throws he couldn't make that were on him, not lack of talent.

I don't use plays where we don't know routes. I try to avoid that. How many times did he throw behind a receiver on a simple crossing route in front of him? That isn't timing, that's looking at the receiver and missing because your footwork was wrong, you rushed the throw, you made a bad throw. He did that too many times.

Plays like in TEN where on the opponenet 20 2nd down with 2 minutes left I believe, down 4. You DO NOT throw a ball up for grabs there. You take the sack and move on. On a broken screen play like in Miami, you don't force the screen pass, you spike it in the dirt. In NE, you don't throw a ball up for grabs on 2nd down and 8 in long FG range, you checkdown, take a sack, scramble, wait for the open receiver. You don't throw into double coverage. These are some plays from the top of my head where it's not talent around him, but just his poort decision making. First drive of the season, the one handed left handed flip on the run? Things like that.

If you want to blame that decision making suffered because of lack of talent, I could see that. But that's still on him, because those are basics he should have engrained himself. Every QB slips up, it happens, he did a lot last year.

So if we go back to the construction crew idea, yeah Sanchez was given a worse blueprint, worse tools, the end result will suffer. That doesn't mean he should be running around the site without a safety helmet and throwing hammers into the sky. He could have terrible tools, he shouldn't forget basic safety (time and game situation), how to hammer a nail (simple crossing routes), or ball securty and stuff like that regardless of talent.

And that's why I am worried. THe problems were more than just lack of talent. They were mistakes that we though he got rid of his rookie year. They creeped up in 2011 but I thought he could rebound from that. Instead he just spiraled out of control. That's why I'm worried he's gone and we won't see any of the promise he had. I still want him to succeed here, I just don't think the chances are high it happens. And on the lack of talent idea, Dustin Keller is not there this year. He's going in with new pieces and still not as much talent as 09 or 2010 or maybe even 2011. He's gonna have to fix himself without top 5 ST, D, and running game.

Sparano, what team hired him as Offensive Coordinator this year?

And regarding the construction analogy, more simply....when your only tool IS a hammer....every problem looks like a nail.

I know the routes on those plays as there were extremely obvious.

The talent around Sanchez absolutely impacted his play. Could he have done better? Of course. But it's easy to lay blame on Sanchez when the problem was dog shit around him. As a QB in the NFL if you don't trust your receivers to be where they are supposed to be you will hesitate and simply will not play well. There are many things Sanchez needs to improve on, but the amount of turnovers last year were partly him and absolutely his teammates.

So using your logic, Schotty was signed quickly as OC so he was a good OC?

    That's wrong, you know it.

And of course, an OC and QB can both be bad. I don't understand how this is a hard concept to grasp. There isn't some law where if the OC is bad, the QB is good and vice versa. Both can be good, both can be bad. They are tied together somewhat.

Again, read above more clearly. Yes the blueprint Sanchez was given was bad and so were the tools, doesn't absolve him for not knowing how to use the tools or reading a blueprint.

But..if Sanchez tanks this year, won't you ending up blaming "offensive weapons" again? Or are we all finally happy that any failure is actually on Mark this time around?

I am getting the feeling he's not going to get a chance. I hope this feeling is wrong and if he fails again we insert Geno and move forward.

Yeah you used ones that were obvious. I don't usually include the MIA INT when talking about Sanchez problems because it was confirmed Cumberland ran the wrong route, etc. I choose to focus on his decision making more so which sometimes leads to turnovers and sometimes doesn't.

Of he could have done better, that's why I'm laying blame at him.

I know if you don't trust your receivers, you will hesitate. But not all his problems trace back to him hesitating. Some of the problems come back to just making the absolutely worst decision possible.

Yes his play was brought down by his teammates and OC. I never said that wasn't the case. I'm saying that I don't think by surrounding him with better talent automatically means we are getting a better Sanchez because a lot of his mistakes last year were regardless of talent around him. On top of that the talent we are getting this year are question marks and not near the 09/10 talent level. He's going to have to do more with less this year, and not spiral out of control. He needs to work on his footwork, ball security, and decision making regarding game situation. What sucks is that those are things he needed to work on in his rookie year and afterwards. I thought he fixed them but he let them creep up in 2011 and become a major part of his game in 2012.

He went backwards, TES some of that is because of his talent and lack of a good OC (never though Schotty eas good, average at best.) Some of it is on him for not playing well like protecting the ball when getting sacked. Putting two hands on the ball. Knowing how to throw the ball out the back of the end zone. When to scramble forward. Decision that if he makes incorrectly next year, will still hurt the team even if Fitzgerald and Calvin are his two wide receivers.

Brian was average. His inconsistency plus Mark's inconsistencies really put the offense into a tailspin at times. Schotty also let Mark's bad habits creep up greatly in 2011 and didn't help him at all when he was hurt/banged up/ blitzed by defensive lines.

Why do you think he won't get a chance? I see him being on the roster and being given a chance and probably winning the starting job. He'll have a short leash on that starting job, but I think he takes it due to Garrard injury and Geno's rawness where we probably don't want to throw him straight into the fire unless he amazes.

No. I was aghast that Fisher of all people hired him. Especially having given him fits when coaching at Tenn.

He had no tools to use.

Go back a page or two...the problem is obvious.

    2011.

Moore comes in, Sanchez puts up 32 scores, 2nd in the NFL in the Red Zone.

The other 80 yards, same offense, same QB, 25 th overall. And that looks better because of the red zone efficiency.

You cant have any clearer example than that.

I think you are giving Moore too much credit, if he really had that effect why didn't the Jets hire him? he wanted to get back on the sidelines.

See I agree with you. But your logic flawed. You implied since Sparano wasn't hired he is a bad OC. Using that logic, since Schotty was hired quickly, he is a good OC? I disagree Schotty is good, but using your reasoning for Sparano implies that.

I agree Sparano and Schotty aren't great OCs, I just disagree with the logic on how you ended up realizing Sparano is a bad OC.

Well, if he gets a chance this year (at this point it seems up in the air) he will be playing in a much more passer friendly offense. I would definitely be more comfortable if they brought back Edwards (especially considering we don't even know if Holmes will be back to 100% to start the year). He will have the best OC he's had since coming into the NFL as well.. All said, if he gets a chance this year I believe he will play well. But, we'll see. He may not even make it to TC

Plax gets involved a little bit, but

2009, Jets were 17th in RZ efficiency, 50.94% TD.
2010, Jets were 28th in RZ efficiency, 44.25% TD.
2011, Jets were 2nd in RZ efficiency, 65.38% TD.
2012, Jets were 25th in RZ efficiency, 48.94% TD.
2012, Rams were 19th in RZ efficiency, 51.35% TD.

Schotty's RZ offenses recently were never above average, average at best at 17th in the league. Sparano in 2012 was more effective in the RZ than Schotty in 2010 which is ridiculous when you think about it.

Garrard will break down and Geno will benefit from sitting.

I'm expecting Mark to start the first eight (?) games before he either wins the job outright or blows a fuse mentally and gets benched.

Not gonna happen, much to the dismay of the Sanchez sucks crowd.

No first year GM, that wants to be a second year GM, is paying Sanchez 8.5 mil to surf, and going into the season with A guy that never read an NFL defense, and a 35 year old coming off back to back season ending injuries before game one.

Day one, its going to be Sanchez, Garrard, and Smith.

The math doesnt work any other way.

You have a second year RT, in Howard, and two new guards.

You are not sticking Garrard out there, because if he gets hurt, Smith loses a mentor.

You arent risking the QB of the future to that line before he gets a chance to digest NFL defenses.

The most expendable player, is Sanchez.

Garrard gets hurt its, "how did you not see this"

Smith gets hurt, and it "you bet the mortgage on Green on the roulette wheel"

Sanchez gets hurt..."gee that sucks, lets move on."

I am indifferent on Braylon. I think it can help, but I'd rather him as a 4th or 5th WR, not replacing Hill unless Hill gets hurt or really struggles. Same with Holmes injury wise.

I agree he will have a great OC, and I think he has the possibility of playing well. But we need more from Sanchez. Just playing better than last year doesn't help. We need him to really shine and he will have less talent than in 09 or 10 across the team. We need Sanchez to shine because well we want a QB who can maximize the system he is, not a QB who looks good because of the system he is in if that makes sense.
