Excellent breakdown of one of his shittiest reads ever. Looking forward to Junc and Hobbes' retort. This kind of garbage is a regular occurance with Sanchez, can't wait for this bum to be gone.

^ That, right there was the exact moment I jumped off the Sanchez train for good. Long before the Buttfumble, long before the benching against AZ, and long before the debacle in Tennessee. As soon as that ball started heading in the other direction, I was done. ENOUGH.

Don't get me wrong, that was a terrible play. But you completely ignored every other detail of that... article.

Was it because the details you wanted were offered up to you like a gift-wrapped grapefruit in an old timer's softball game?

That... piece... wasn't exactly complimentary of any of the three candidates.

I don't want Sanchez anywhere near the Jets if they are really putting something together, but just picking one part of an 'article' (and especially some blog-style turd from BleacherReport) that suits your interests is just as insincere as guys like Cimini and Mehta choosing which quotes work for their agenda.

This is a spade. I'm calling it.

    Agreed.

Anyone with a modicum of football sensibility doesn't want him anywhere near the field either . Regardless of where the comments come from, the result is the same, it's an opinion that is fairly on the money.
The example given is indicative of the type of play that we've now come to expect.

Of course. He couldnt wait for a response, but apparently in reading the article, he didnt catch the fact that it makes my basic points.

No its because anyone with a working cortex can see that was a fucking atrocious read. That was a crippling interception, he chose not to throw to a wide open WR in the end zone. I dont care if he led a nice drive prior to that, he does that all the time: makes a few nice plays and then destroys everything with a dumb decision. I want a new decision-maker at the controls. Capiche?

We all know he had a shitty supporing cast, the weapons arent making the dumbass decisions.

Ps. The first photo, undercuts the whole case. Hill is moving to Sanchez right, putting two defemders between him and the ball, which means, Sanchez cannot throw it on a line, or ot gets tipped or picked. Look at hill in relation to the Seachickens logo.

The throw he made o. The second read was not defensible, it was a poor throw.

Hill, is not wide open on that play, hes actually drifting into coverage.

And in between the first and second picture, youre missing a couple very important frames, like where Hill sees tje coverage then stops and puts his hands up, but...BY THAT TIME...Sanchez, quicker than Hill saw the coverage, and is already into his throwing motion.

As I said, no defending the INT, but the only way Hill is open at the right time on that play, is if he stops a second sooner.

Otherwise the result would probably have been the same.

Timing is everything, he was open at one point and should have been found. He can't throw it on a line but he could dump it between the two defenders in zone, a touch pass if you will. Unfortunately Sanchez can't make good touch-passes. His decision to throw the ball across the field into traffic was terrible. A pro QB cant make that decision consistenly, Sanchez does, and he doesnt have the accuracy or zip to make up for bad decision making.

It's easy to drift into coverage when you give defenders time by pump faking three times.

Sanchez's performance on this play is completely indefensible. I am sure that even he would agree.

The fact that you're attempting to defend an indefensible performance speaks volumes. You might as well try to defend sal alosi.

I've never denied Sanchez can make an occasional nice throw in space, the article goes on to support MY argument that he makes retarded decisions and is inaccurate. One can come to that conclusion in those photos.

If you are an NFL QB, you have to be able to throw outside the numbers. If you can only throw up the seem, its pretty easy to shut that down. Its pretty clear that defenses caught onto this same observation, which may be a big reason for his "regression".

I you can only throw slants and posts and seem passes, you essentially are only utilizing half of the field. Its like having an RB who can only run outside the tackles. You arent going to start in this league if you can not run between the tackles, and you sure as hell arent going to succeed in this league only being semi successful throwing inside the hashes.

He hasnt proven to do otherwise in his 4 years here. This observation contradicts your argument that Sanchez is a good fit with MM. MM's main philosophy is to stretch the field sideways, instead of vertically, and then occasionally take shots downfield. If Sanchez cant stretch the field horizontally, like you say, then he is a poor fit with Marty.

You have to pick your spots, and the overall proportion of those throws.

Sanchez makes plays outside and down the field, but when your offense is predicated on those throws, you are not goung to very successful.

Marty's offense isthe fit for what he does.

The photos lack context. The int is rdiculous, his best option on thatlay would have been to eun the ball.

But in terms of Hill, he made the right read, Hill was not open, until Sanchez is going the other way with the ball.

(and...FWIW...if that is Holmes or Edwards, Sanchez might expect him to put on the brakes and back away from the coverage. But Hill being a rookie, gets one look)

    Look at the first photo.

No, the int was moronic, on several levels. He misses the CB, then Floats the ball to Keller.

His play, is running the ball through the lane he attempted to throw it in.

So, even at a glance there are three serious errors on the play....reading Hill is not one of them.

But Hill, by any fair view of those two shots is not open until Sanchez is ready to go the wrong way with the ball.

Jake, at the time he was read, he was running into double coverage.

If that is Hill or Edwards, he expects them to hit the brakes and back away from the coverage maybe he looks to Keller, and pumps it, then comes back.

But hes not going to expect that from Hill.

And...fwiw...every receiver in the NFL is wide open on the backside of the play when the ball is already coming out.

And no, he cant throw a touch pass there. The defender is under the letter, the receiver over, he throws a touch pass there, the ressult is exactly the same as throwing the touch pass to Keller.

His only good options were throw it away, or run in that wide open lane.
