Good for GSmith. The sportsclowns try to steer the interview to get him to say something controversial, try to bait him to respond to the anonymous tards accusations. He steers it back to what he's there for: playing and talking football.
all rookies do it. there is an agreement that they participate and will be compensated at the slotted rate for the draft position if there is a catastrophic injury. standard stuff, nothing to question here
Yep, Sanchez took a headshot against Pitt and his throws sucked after that. He also took a very violent hit against Balt the year before that affected his neck, and sucked for a short time, improved, then took a very precision headshot against the Eagles and was completely useless for the rest of the season. He's got a stinger, diagnosed and supposedly untreated, and it's going to happen every year until he addresses it with surgery. Massages ain't doing the job. He also now has lost any of the NCAA developed sense of invulnerability that he had when he was drafted. Now he looks like David Carr when the pocket collapses.
Does the number have some negative personal imprint for you, or is this some kind of numerical fashion statement?
Meanwhile, it's raining bullshit at ESPN... http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/9261432/jets-view-stanza? Reilly: Jets' QB view from the stanza
I love it. Next thing you know, numerical awkwardness will be a primary factor in determining which players get which numbers.
That asshole makes 3 mill a year, man there should be a rule against useless rick Reilly articles, Hes everything that is wrong with ESPN.
You can knock Sanchez for a lot of things the past two seasons, but toughness is not one of them. He has played on an offense with a terrible OL in 2011 when Mangold got hurt and the slowest receivers in the league. He got the crap beat out of him that year, but did not miss a game and may not have missed a play. Last year he was dealt the worst OC in the league and the worst offensive skill position talent in the league and again got the crap beat out of him but never left the field. I'd like nothing better than for Smith to be a franchise QB, but Sanchez has shown that he is physically tough. There is no "Cutler" in Sanchez.
It is absurd that the number one NFL story in the national media today is Geno Smith taking his first snaps as a Jet. Why???? He was not a high first round pick. He is a second round pick. The media is trying to torpedo this kid before he has a shot. If the Jets were smart, they would start the season with Sanchez or Garrard and let Smith ride the bench for at least 10-12 games to take the spot light off him. Is Manual's first day of practice going to get this much attention? Nassib's??? Barkley's??? I doubt it. I hope he rides this out and the team gives him support and some shelter from this media storm. T This is the payback for Hard Knocks and Tebow. The two biggest mistakes in recent Jets history. Let's hope Idzik makes the Jets a little less interesting off the field and in the press and a lot more interesting on the field.
How refreshing it is for me to read about players and performance on the field for a change. Each and every one with the dream of making it in the NFL through some very steep competition. I root for every damn one ON this team, and feel sorry for those that have the added pressure of having to deal with the media criticsm every step of the way even before they have played one lousy pre season game.
C'mon now....I'm in the UK and understand how mentally juvenile the NY press is, they'd slot in well over here as they are pretty much the same. LOVE Non stories
