Should have just scrapped the Andy storyline. Liked Dwight being assistant to himself. Jim/Pam you knew was going to happen. Weird to see how everything else wraps up next week. What everyone is doing/going to do
That Andy storyline though, thought it was annoying/bad once he went old man to barge into that room and then eventually started crying. Oh man, was not feeling that. I hope they at least let Andy end up being happy next week. Man's been on a downward spiral since Erin/Andy split
The Jim/Pam thing was sweet, but obvious; they resolved it last week, so why redo it? I agree that the Andy story line was bad, and I thought the Kevin/Phillip "conflict" was ridiculous. Getting Dwight and Angela together was okay, but also obvious. IMO most of the stuff with Darryl was pretty lame. I do agree that the Dwight/Jim interaction was funny, and the best part of the show.
At the end of last week I didn't think Pam/Jim was wrapped up since it had that scene where Jim turned down touring America and Pam heard him from the bathroom. So I thought that was "up in the air" (I mean 99% it's a happy marriage) going into this week. I also can't believe they remembered that card he put and took back way back when. I enjoyed Kevin/Phillip because Oscar/Angela have been like Kevin's parents before. I found it funny but silly funny. I wish Dwight was manager instead of Andy when Michael left. Would have been so many more stuff like this. But I guess they thought the spin off was gonna work and not get canned
Fixed that for you. As for tonight's episode, I loved Jim/Pam, Jim/Dwight, Dwight/Angela storylines. You guys say it was obvious, but the writers have been terrible lately. We could only hope they would do the right thing, so it was nice to see. The Darryl part was the worst, but no biggie. Can't complain about this episode after all the crap they have fed us the last 2 years.
I thought in this episode Pam would tell Jim he should go; if this was reality it would be insane not to do it, since the goal is at the end the company gets bought out anyway. Since the marriage has been saved, who wouldn't sacrifice 3 months for the benefit of a gigantic payoff at the end? I still expect that that is what we'll find out happened when they come back 6 months later next week. As I said, the recap of Jim/Pam moments was sweet, but since it ended up in the same place it started (with him staying) I thought it was pretty much pointless.
2 hours and 15 minutes of finale. First hour is a retrospective at 8 PM. Next hour and 15 minutes is finale episode according to my DVR
I just don't want this to end. They have to come up with SOME kind of show similar. I know Parks and Rec is by the same people..well some of them.. but I mean like more of a spin off show.
Well, to be honest, I thought the first 45 minutes was pretty mediocre, but the last half hour was absolutely great. Nice way to go out.
I feel the same way Jeff. I felt like the 1st hour was great. I loved that they did that. Then with the actual episode (which is what I believe you're talking about) was boring at first, without many funny moments, or sincere moments. After a few commercial breaks, it started really getting good. The moment that the episode turned around for me was when Meredith's son was the stripper. Also a side note: I feel like every time you'd start to really get sucked into the show, they went to a break. And now.. now... now what?
Right - I liked the retrospective a lot, but I thought the first part of the regular episode wasn't too great. It picked up with the wedding, but I thought really hit it's stride with the party back at Dunder Mifflin that night. By the way, did everyone notice how the actual producers of the show were in the crowd in the warehouse when they took the picture?
Sad moment. Love how everyone wrapped up. Man I was rewatching the season recently and for me personally, I don't think you can top Seasons 2 and 3 of this show. Brilliant stuff. But man I think they did a good job. I think they used Michael Scott perfectly. I also like how they salvaged how annoying Pam was at times with Pam saying she yelled at herself so she just made a Jim gesture. Carol the real estate agent was there. The Stripper was there who was for multiple episodes. Devin getting hired back was great.
