Looks surprisingly dark and more of a emotional Iron Man film. Looks great cinematically and Ben Kingsley for Mandarin should be great.
Iron Man 2 was fucking terrible. glad to see they have gone a completely different direction with this one rather than just take the first movie and make it bigger like part 2.
That trailer reminds me of watching Trailer #2 of The Dark Knight Rises. Looked good, but kind of a bummer. I agree with JetBlue though, good to try a new direction with Iron Man, but not sure it will work with audiences.
Audiences will pay to see Iron Man though...He is incredibly popular character all over the world. Even if its bad like Spiderman 3, it will make money. Apparently this is start of Phase 2 of Marvel Films http://screenrant.com/marvel-movies-taking-risks/
And Disney bought them at the right time to cash in... Finally, they decided to do this instead of license their own product out... I bet they would love to buy back the rights to Spiderman (Sony) and Xmen (Fox)...Although both are overexposed at the moment.
Iron Man has always had an upbeat vibe, so seeing it go the other way will probably upset some fans, they will definitely see the movie though. I am sure he comes out of it on top too, but I was just saying the vibe of the trailer was a bummer compared to previous Iron Man movies and him in The Avengers.
DC is scrambling to figure out their action plan...Which I believe is to start the Justice League arc first with this Man of Steel film.
This was probably one of the worst bait and switches I've ever seen, they completely ruined a great villian in the mandarin. You'd have to have Down's syndrome to think this was a great movie.
Wow, this movie completely terribly and lackluster as a comics fan. This was not a good ending to the series. Lame, seriously and yes what a cop out on the villain Kingsley/Pearce were still amazing though
I can't believe joss whedon even allowed this abortion of a film to happen. He's gonna have a hell of a time fitting this dogshit storyline into avengers 2
The hardcore Iron Man fan will be upset about how Mandarin was done, I agree, but as an overall movie it was a lot of fun. Robert Downey Jr. was great, as always. Can't see how you can consider it a bad movie.
Well how would you feel exactly if Chris Nolan made a mockery of the joker in TDK? That's basically what would be the equivalent of this movie. It was actually a decent movie up until they revealed the mandarin to be an idiotic bumblefuck.
and here I thought you would be pissed that they turned an Chinese arch villian into a British grade B actor with a lousy part. They did drop the ball on the Mandarin by making him a front for some crazy, bioengineered industrialist. I think the whole Pepper Pots as heroine went over well and I'm glad they abandoned it at the end. They probably thought that by keeping the Mandarin Chinese, it would hurt the gate when the movie opens in China so in a nod to their history with Britain, they made the Mandarin a bumbling Englishman instead of a Chinese SuperVillian. In the end, they would have been better off sticking with the original Mandarin character. All in all, I liked this movie much better than IM2. Worth the price of admission for sure.
Yeah, no doubt that would have been unwatchable for me. Luckily, it was the total opposite. Besides that storyline though, it was a great movie. Even Pierce and Kingsley were great despite that odd script choice.
Ben Kingsley was fantastic and played the role perfectly, and chances are, they didn't cast an actual asian actor as the Mandarin because people would have cried racism.
