I'm not so sure they're similar.
I've always looked at Geno Smith more like the black, offensive Eric Smith.

Cause he is black, not white?

I am the white Steven A.

His numbers aren't, but his talent had to be questioned if he dropped to 39. I watched a couple of his games and I question his ability. I see a guy who thrived with having two premier recievers in NCAA. A lot of dinks, dunks and screens where Bailey and Austin took it to the house.

...then what is? We all know there was no one of a RG3 / Andrew Luck talent out this year.

  6. I think it's deplorable the way the media will try to do anything to knock the Jets down a peg. Than again it's even more pathetic how a number of Jet fans buy into it.

One was the second pick overall, The other the 39th pick, I don't see the comparison.

I am willing to bet every single dollar I make for the rest of my life that had Geno been drafted by any other organization, these accusations would not be coming out.

For that matter, had we drafted Te'o we would have been crucified. Same for drafting Mathieu. What is there to be concerned about him? His performance on the field speaks for itself. I mean, Gronk acts like a fucking idiot off the field, but nobody is crucifying him for it.

It's almost comical and pathetic how far the media will go to bash the Jets and divide our fanbase. And then, some of our imbecile fans fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

All a part of being a Jets fan. Get used to it.

It was always like this to a degree, but Woody Johnson embraced it, so you get what you see now.

    Raiders, Redskins, Cowboys, Lions...

We'd be hearing major cynicism with those teams as well, although for different reasons in some cases.

This is so stupid. How is this even a thread/discussion? Stephen A. is an idiot, we all know this. I didn't know he was psychic.

This shit is getting so freaking annoying already. I'm used to the media bashing the Jets, but really your going to bash a freaking (22 year old?) rookie?

I hope this bull shit doesn't ruin Genos confidence. It sure seems like it could completely kill this young kids confidence.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Any other team and none of these "reports" would be coming out. Notice how not one of them cites an actual source its all anonymous.. Half of the shit I think is made up by the media to be honest with you.. Just so we stay known in the NFL as the Circus Act.

How can anyone not see this Kid might have the Mental toughness we need... When has Sanchez ever came out with Bravado never! The kid has the Backbone like his Coach and I think Rex and Geno will make a GREAT Coach QB Tandem down the road given the chance

Here's a question for Steven-If Ryan Leaf were black would he have fallen into the second round?
