How does that make any sense? GM's like to have their own people. Only kept them until the draft since they had already been scouting people before he was even hired. And how is that a debacle?

Yeah, I'm sure he was the ONLY guy that scouted Geno Smith. And his opinion was the ONLY one taken into account...

Scouting department contracts are generally year-to-year structured around the draft (April to April). Now that FA, draft and UDFA period has passed, it is the optimal time to make any changes.

I was thinking about that this morning. Do you think the firing of Davis was driven by all the stuff about Geno that is coming forward now?
May be John got blindsided by the lack of info on all these "so called negative traits" people are talking about.

i dont think bradway is terrible...you have to remember, he wasn't making the decisions on draft day...

i think bradway overall has displayed from what we know, to be a good scout.

seriously? or maybe he just didnt care for the way davis did things andsince his contract is up idzick sees it as an openung for someone he is more comfortable with.
we are as bad as mehta and cimini and all the hacks if we are going to read into every move as a reaction to what ever is in the papers that day. idzick has yet to make any knee jerk reactions and every move has been calculated. i amsure this move has been coming for awhile

Bradway is a good scout, people give him credit for the bad players we draft like he wasn't apart of the decision making when we drafted good players. There is really no reason to get rid of him.

Totally agree. So far, everything Idzik is doing is creating the organization HE wants. That includes the hierarchy as well. Its possible that certain people have been in their positions too long and have gotten complacent. Bradway comes to mind immediately.

Judging by Idzik's actions so far, those folks walking on egg shells have good reason to and if it were me, I'd freshen up those resumes and linkedin and Monster and Dice and.....

Why has Bradway gotten a pass with this team for over a decade?

When he was GM, he was "handcuffed" by Herm, and just HAD to pick bad players. Never mind the fact that Herm played such a blatantly hands-off role with the Jets, aside from when he had a microphone in his face.

When he was assistant GM and then head of scouting, he wasn't used properly. Never mind the fact that Tannenbaum wasn't a football guy and had to rely on Bradway for personnel decisions.

Can we please just cut this dead fish loose already? I think the Jets have played musical chairs in the FO long enough to know it doesn't work.

He should have been fired when it went public that he performed the last year of his GM responsibilities from his house in Atlantic City.

    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Good lets shake it up and get fresh hungry blood in here... someone who will not leave any rocks unturned

  14. I do think maybe it's time to move on from Bradway. Bottom line is while the drafts may not be horrible on a year to year basis..they haven't been great either. Sure he's got a good reputation as having a great eye..well there are alot of great eyes. Time for a new perspective on things.

Remember how the Schotty departure worked. The Jets gave him time to find a match before they finally let him go. He couldn't find one in that window but the window was there nonetheless.

This is the beginning of the new era. Im thinking Idzik is leaving the door open for anybody that wants to go. Good move in my opinion. All aboard as the train is leaving.

While Bradway doesn't deserve a pass and I am certainly not adverse to bringing in fresh blood, Bradway has been pretty good as a scout and he's well respected throughout the league.

While no one can hit on every prospect on every draft, his record isn't as bad as some people say. If Bradway was the cause of such problems he would not be here 16 years and survived with this team since Parcells arrived.

Clinckscales left for the hapless Raiders because Tanny kept washing away picks for FA & moving up. While he gets a D+ for his job as GM, I think Bradway is getting worse treatment than he deserves.
