i only know this cause i looked it up earlier, but 39 all time ranking in playoff wins for a quarterback...

only 38 other guys have done better in the post season

but i guess that means nothing considering how easy it is to win on the road in the playoffs in the nfl...

I don't bash those that criticize, his play deserves criticism from the last year plus. I bash those that blame him w/o realizing all that went into last year, I bash those that are giving up on a young QB that has proven he can win big in this league. For folks like you it's on to the next player to boo but I want our players to succeed and the team to win rather that a scapegoat when we lose.

And only four faster to thirty wins. IN NFL HISTORY.

But clearly you dont get the rules. When Sanchez wins, its the team. When the teM loses, its Sanchez...didnt you see him miss the tackle on Tebow, when they were playing for theor play off lives in 2011.

and you assume they wouldnt. what other QBs did on other teams is irrelevant. I dont think that many QB's wouldnt have been able to duplicate winning 2 playoff games in 2009.

I mean we had the leagues best defense/run game/special teams

    @cincy:
sanchez had 180 yards and 1 touchdown. We ran the ball for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns and the defense held them to 14 points and forced 3 turnovers. im fairly confident most QBs could manage 180 yards and not fcking up while the defense and run game carried the load.

    @San Diego
sanchez threw for 100 yards 1 touchdown 1 interception. We rushed for 175 yards and a long TD by greene. the defense again held them to 14 points and forced 2 turnovers and we had an average starting field position of the 39 yardline thanks to defense and special teams

not really impressive... and it was the same as it was all year. defense/special teams/run game carrying us. sanchez did jack in those games and most qbs would have been able to do the same and watch our teammates win the game for them.

wins like that dont offset 62 games of being the worst qb in football

Smith didnt even have the senior year in college Sanchez had. Get a grip. The only sycophants are fhe delusionals that think Geno Smith is ready for prime time, an assertion i might add rebutted by both Cassely and Mayock.

    But hey, you know better,

There is your mistake, you are using #s w/o context to evaluate a player. I suggest you get a copy of both games and watch them again. He was near flawless in Cincy, had 3 incompletions all game and 2 were drops. At SD the play of the QBs decided that game, Rivers made the big mistake and cost SD while Sanchez played more like a vet. We got a double digit lead and stopped passing so his yardage couldn't go up, essentially he had 3 qtrs. to pass the ball. Is that fair to determine based on pass yds?

    go rewatch the game.

62? Because I may be wrong, but he is one of 5 fastest to 30 wins. In the history of the NFL.

Oh, never mind..when Sanchez wins...lits the team. When the team loses its Sanchez.

Home depot called, they need you back in the tool aisle.

good year in 2009 for a rookie? what?

    2009:
    12 TD vs 20 picks
    10 fumbles
    53% completions
    63 QB rating.

his QB rating was 2nd worst in the league for any QB with at least 12 starts. (only jamarcus russell was worse).

    top 10 type in 2010?

    2010:
    12 TD vs 17 picks
    8 fumbles
    54% completions
    75.3 QB Rating

Bottom 5 in the league in QB rating. And he wasnt top 15 in ANY passing category, let alone top 10.

    you are clueless

geno smith might not be a polished nfl quarterback but hes definitely gonna give sanchez a run for his money in camp. i dont think hell beat sanchez in a qb comp given sanchez' age and resume, but he will certainly be right up on his heels. training camp this year is gonna be pretty awesome with the way qb competition is going to play out. only good things from bringing in guys like garrard and smith

i said it in the other thread, but tebow could never come close to challenging sanchez in a qb skills competition. its much different when you can see how bad the guy below you sucks and yet everybody still wants him to start over you. at least this year the guys underneath mark will be pushing him to really elevate his game, something we know he can do.

tebow was just about the worst thing for this franchise, im so fucking glad it was only a one year deal.

that is completely inaccurate. and you need to rewatch the games. the cincy game we didint let mark throw, because eh sucked and almost lost us the game against cincy the last game of the regular season.

we ran all over cincy from the start, with 78 rush yards in the first quarter. mark didnt throw, because like in all of 2009, we didint want him too, because when he did, he turned it over.

in SD it was more of the same. mark hard a horrible turnover, then we stopped letting him throw and just ran, even in pass situations. there defense won that game, getting key turnovers, and greene huge touchdown run.

wins are a team stat. sanchez didint have much to do with those wins. in those 30 wins he had 34 turnovers and just 17 touchdowns. the defense held opponents to an average of 13.6 points per game. we averaged 181.4 rush yards per game in those wins. but yea, mark led the way.... right.

yes... thats the way it goes when your QB plays terrible. when your defense plays lights out and you run the ball well, it can make up for terrible QB play. when it doesnt, it cant overcome horrible QB play. the only constant was horrible QB play.

you want to credit sanchez for a win where he throws 0 TDs and 4 picks go ahead, but thats just idiotic

he had 3-4 awful games that skewed his #s his rookie year.

you have his Tds and INTs reversed in 2010.

what? the Cincy game the last week was never in doubt, we dominate dthem from the beginning. we received the opening KO and scored in 4 mins to take 7-0 lead, 2nd possession we had a 12 min drive that ended w/ a FG for a 10-0 lead. By the end of the half it was 27-0, at what point di we almost lose that game?

we ran all over Cincy from the start in the playoff game? The 1st qtr we ran it 8 times for 25 yds.

A horrible TO was Rivers throwing the ball up for grabs from his EZ which set up our first TD and taking the lead for good off a great play on 3rd down where Sanchez kept the play alive w/ his legs and made an outstanding throw to Keller for the TD.

You clearly have no clue what games you are talking about, please go rewatch so you can begin to understand what actually happened.

Not to jump in here ... but sir if you think Mark almost lost us a game that we won 37-0 ... you might need some new glasses.

Sanchez is going to be shopped around and if a QB gets hurt in training camp for another team, look for Jets to dish Sanchez ASAP.

It seems like yesterday when all the Jet's fans went crazy happy when Sanchez started as a rookie. Now, off with his head before OTA. Another day in the life of a disgruntled Jet fan.
