I will add at the time of the Rangers' second win over the Caps, the Caps record was 10-13-1. After that, the Caps finished 17-5-2, including a win over the Rangers.
5 of the 8 first round series have a back-to-back Game 6 & 7. They handled the lockout better than this.
let's face it......these teams are even as they get. This series will once again go 7, it's a complete toss up. Both teams seem a little weaker defensively on stronger offensively than when they met in the playoffs last year one thing that's the same the Rangers pp sucks and the caps is good........Rangers will be hoping for a lot of 5 on 5. Decline the penalties! ....oh and by the way, not that it matters much now but the one Caps win this season was a shootout, no? ; ) Wheen the hell is Staal coming back?

I definitely am. The Islanders beating the Pens certainly helps ease the road ahead should the Rangers find their own stride and it also creates the possibility, slight as it may be, of the Rangers meeting the Isles in a series later in the playoffs. Wouldn't get much more entertaining than that. Imagine that game a few Saturdays back x1000.
i want the pens to win. i want the rangers to get that pens monkey off their backs once and for all, much like the yankees finally got the angels monkey off their backs in 2009. i really hate that bunch, but let's get past the much hated capitals first. really sick of those fucks too. stamp them out boys!
Except that the Penguins will get Cindy back by round 2, so this is the only real chance with decent odds for Pittsburgh to go down.
