The fact that people even still try to debate with sanchez homers TDK, Hobbes, and JetsKickAss is rather funny. Quit wasting your time and beating the dead horse with these guys. You three are pathetic anyway for continuously coming on a message board Sanchez hate thread trying to defend the guy. Leave this thread for the Sanchez hate that he rightfully deserves.

No, but we had one of the most pathetic NFL offenses I've ever seen . . . and Mark Sanchez was a big reason why.

    I know ... Unbelievable.
It really is amazing how some people like to pretend that the last two years didn't just happen. At his best, Sanchez was a mediocre QB, And that's being generous ... But apparently it's supposed to be his ringing endorsement for this great career he's going to go onto. At his worst, he was one of the most inept starting QB's to play in the in the league in the past 10 -15 years ... and he was THE worst of any QB with 30 starts in the last two years. You don't get compared to guys like Jamarcus Russell and Stoney Case because you're good.

The guy is a dog shit QB. The proof will be in the pudding after we release him, and there will be a grand total of 2 or 3 teams that are willing to give him a shot to beat some other dog shit QB's in a competition. Maybe Cleveland? Maybe Jacksonville? I guess there's a chance that a team with an established quarterback might make it clear to him that they're willing to employ him in a backup role, but is there another team that would be willing to take reps away from any of their QB's to give this turnover machine a chance to compete for their starting job?? I doubt it ... Unless they've been in a coma for the past two years ... Or if JUNC and HOBBES start a franchise.

Chances are, the only way he ever starts again, is if he's backing up an established QB who sustains a serious injury.

Seems a bit drastic there. I am not some super Sanchez fan. I am just realistic and I look at the big picture of a team. Not just QB. Sometimes I do feel like I have to speak out more, only because of some of the harsh critics that Sanchez has.

    Garrard
    Smith
    McElroy

That's how the starting qb lineup should look on opening day.

See ya, Mark. It's been real.
    Real expensive.

You sealed your fate when you planted your face in Moore's ass.

But thanks again for replacing the fake spike on the Jet's lowlight reel.

I can't feel sorry for Mark, he's made more money this up coming year than 99% of people will see in their entire lives. Unless he's as bad with his money as he is at QB then he's set for life.

It won't. Almost 100% chance that Geno is day 1 starter. Garrard is the new Brunnell.

Sanchez will be gone. That sorry putz got super lucky when Tannenbaum and Rex brain farted and gave him undeserved lotto money. Sanchez is a fluff ball, weak psyche who throws more sissy fits than accurate balls. If he thinks Tebow being in camp last year affected his play because he is mentally weak, it is going to get real bad now that Geno Smith was drafted to replace him. Pack you bags Sanchez, take your money and walk, and be thankful if you ever find another spot in the NFL.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to see the Jets keep Sanchez through training camp before they make a decision to keep him/cut him. Idzik is preaching competition, and I'd like to see Mark, Gerrard, and Geno go at it in camp. Competition makes everybody better and it will force each QB to try to better themselves each day or possibly lose the bid for the starting QB position.

But the main reason is that there is a chance, no matter how small, that Sanchez has turned it around. I doubt that this is the case, but it really doesn't hurt to keep him around in camp/preseason to find out. If he's still the same old Sanchez, then we cut him and the distraction is gone.

It's not about being a homer. I probably agree that Sanchez and the Jets both need to start fresh.

It's just that I've seen Jet fans run out of town Jet QB's before and then have 2nd-thoughts about doing so.

I believe the same thing will happen with Sanchez. Time will tell if I am right.

And I maintain that a guy who has a 90-plus QB rating in 6 road playoff games must have some skills and talent even as the team around him has deteriorated and he was sabotaged with selfish, aging players (Mason, Burress, Holmes, etc.).

I agree, but the one thing I have to agree with the Sanchez-bashers is that at the end of the season he did look like he had quit and/or lost confidence. The interceptions that he was throwing at the end of 2012 were far worse than those earlier in the year or from 2009-11. Even I had to wonder what the hell he had seen.

Look, if/when he leaves we'll know pretty quickly if it was Sanchez or the OC/talent. He's going to get another shot as a starting QB in the NFL. If he puts in a year with a QB Rating of 100 or close to it, alot of people are going to be eating crow around here.

If he flops again and is out of the league in 3-4 years, I'll freely admit I was wrong and they were right.

    Case Closed.

Sanchez needs to be a backup to a team with an established veteran QB. Believe it or not Sanchez has value as a backup due to his experience. He would be a good pick up for a team like the Packers, Falcons, Ravens, Bears or Broncos. He is not cut out to be a starter.

im trying to remember the last jets qb that people ran out of town that became a great player.... jeff blake? he was decent but not a guy you really would say oh man we really gave up a pro bowler there. brooks bollinger started a few games in minnesota i think...

pennington just doesnt count. he was heavily aged and only played one good year after he left the jets.

If all of what you say is true, then please explain why the guy has a 90-plus QB Rating in the playoffs in 6 road playoff games ????

    Was he lucky ??

Or did he elevate his game ???

Did the team play better around him then that they didn't in the regular season ?

6 road playoff games is NOT a small statistical sample.

Pennington counts. He ONLY had one good year past the NYJ's because he had a career ending injury. He immediately surfaced as an efficient QB once he left the Jets.

Favre was a disaster here, leaving some to believe he was done as a QB. Once he left the NYJ's, he returned to elite form.
