Maybe Idzik thinks he can get Rodgers or Rambo as an UDFA.

I am with you on these project picks, but at least we didn't use a 1st - 4th round on a project pick.

Idk maybe I'm old school, but the NFL is not a good place to learn a new position or a completely new playing style. Do this in high school or even college, but if you are moving to a new position (in this case- the complete opposite side of the football) to start your NFL career, I wouldn't use a draft pick on you. Best case scenario, the player will come to form at the end of the 2nd or 3rd year, and at this point his contract is almost up and he was paid all that money without giving you any results.

Clearly your evaluation ability exceeds that of ALL NFL scouts & general managers. How are all these elite players you want still on the board otherwise. And I don't mean to aim that at you, but at everyone who is losing their minds.

And remember that Brandon Moore was a converted DT, and I would say that worked out okay for us.

I agree to an extent but when you are rebuilding you don't waste draft picks on projects. I think Geno needs a lot of work before we call him a "franchise QB" and this is a guy who absolutely would not have been drafted. Quality teams and frachises do not waste picks regardless of how late on projects unless they have the depth on the roster to do so. Anybody saying "we it's only a 6th round pick" doesn't understand the draft process.

Guy's in the 6th round are pretty much UDFA's that teams get to pick so they don't try out somewhere else. A lot of players rather not get drafted in the 6th or 7th because they rather choose where they wanna sign as a UDFA.

Mel kiper said he has talent and skill just needs to be motivated and coached up and that Rex can be the one to do that. Still think we should have gone at least 6 other ways. Rogers, Rambo, Washington, Thomas.

I love how people are acting like we are passing on the next calvin johnson or jj watt because we didint take a guy you liked in the 6th round who might not even get drafted.

Exactly why it's a waste of a pick... for starters we don't have the luxury to waste draft picks on projects and like you said. By the time this guy gets it his contract is up. Didn't Rex learn with Vlad that OL projects are wasted draft picks? That fuck might not even be on the roster Week 1.

    Not the point.

It's about maximizing the value of your picks. Sorry, but Campbell was a wasted pick.

The guy we took was much more likely to go undrafted than Rogers or Chase Thomas. And we took him in the 6th

Teams need to learn from Burfict last year, a player can have a troubled past but if he's supremely talented he is worth drafting in these lower rounds.

And the dozens of scouts and millions of pages of draft material and film and coaches and whatever obviously thought he was better than either of those guys. Or maybe he isn't one foot from landing in jail..I have no idea but there is some reason nobody wants them to this point.

Say what you want, but this was not a big need. We need much more depth at receiver especially with a rookie QB coming in.

I'm not really angry, just confused.

it isnt a wasted pick. he is added depth at tackle and a guy we can groom to have a 2 down role on this team. id take that over taking a playmaker who wont have an impact or role on the team. those guys arent going to start or see the field. they would have been wasted. id rather a sub who might have a small role.

get a play maker high in next years draft

He would have been had as a UDFA.

Sorry, but Rogers, Fauria or an OLB like Washington or Thomas should have been the pick.

Horrible.. The New GM is starting off great! Full blown rebuilding mode.. Tons of lineman.. Not sure they needed that many.. They must think the skill players are awesome since they didn't draft any or sign any free agents
