First of all, Smith is no where near ready to play. This aint WVA, and they didnt get Tavon Austin. Sanchez...is most likely staying, or we will be picking Teddy Bridgewater next year.
I am, I just dont like how this all ended for him. I feel they didnt give him a fair shot so in return I wouldnt mind a nice come back story from him because I really liked this guy as a Jet QB in the beginning.
I'm going to go back to: I'm confused here, are you a Jets fan? I have never rooted for the Jets to lose a game under any circumstances, and that includes when some players I particularly liked left and joined other teams. This is why I never play fantasy football. The players are great and they are important but the team is what you root for. Rooting for a player in the absence of a team is something you do if you know the guy personally and he's a friend. It's something you do if you're his mother. Root for the Jets. You'll be surprised how easy it is to root for Jet players when you do that and how hard it is to root for them when they play against the Jets down the road. Full disclosure: Jerrico Cotchery and Shaun Ellis were my two favorite recent Jets. I still like them but man do I hope they get swamp toe if they take the field against the Jets. I liked Mark Sanchez a lot also before his play deteriorated. I have no problem with wishing him well in his next gig, but, swamp toe...
Funny, I think 1. Sanchez 2. Tebow 3. McElroy is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than 1. Smith 2. Garrard 3. McElroy What a clueless franchise.
I am a JETS fan although I dont take everything too seriously to feel the way you do. I dont know what else to say.
I wonder what percentage of blame should be put on the Jets for what has happened to Mark here. He get's the bulk of it for sure, but the Jets didn't help matters.
ok maybe not the right choice of words but when it comes to Sanchez, I just want him to succeed, thats all.
Pretty much all of it. Or at least 75% on the Jets. Sanchez won 4 playoff games, threw an 80 yard TD in an AFC Championship Game, had the Jets at (8-5) in Year 3 with a terrible team, then all fell a part. Sparano, Tebow and no skill players doomed him in year 4. Literally, most of the blame should not be on Sanchez. That is why he should start this year.
Alright, just give it some time. Like thirty years or so. Then you'll see. The Jets were so bad the first decade I rooted for them they barely had any players to root for outside of Namath and Pat Leahy. I actually used to root for a kicker because he was the best player on the team.
Sanchez is the worst starting QB in the nfl. I can't believe anyone is still trying to defend this soon to be cut bum
I completely agree but for the 9,000th time in this thread, the Sanchez hate is too loud now and theres no turning back. Yes he turns the ball over and yes at times he over throws, but he was enough to help this team when they needed it the most. He was enough to help this team in the AFCCGs. Once his toys were taken from him, he, along with the offense, sucked ass. The whole thing, looking back, man, it just sucks how it all went down. I heard people say this would happen because of the ground and pound, Brian.S and crew, but didnt think it will happen.
People forget things quickly. Sanchez and the Jets were a possession away from beating the Steelers to go to the Super Bowl. He was playing great. 2011 he lost Braylon and Cotchery. 2012 lost Tomlinson, Sparano and Tebow ruined everything, plus the loss of Holmes and Keller. Sanchez is clearly not Aaron Rodgers, but he still should not be replaced. Especially not with a much worse Geno Smith. It is not as simple as saying "the QB sucks". I wish it was. It is not at all though. Although Smith does suck, so you can add that to the list.
That depends on what happens to Sanchez in his post-Jets career. If he pulls a Jim Plunkett then obviously the Jets ****ed him over big-time. If he washes out Matt Leinart-style then the Jets aren't to blame.
a bit off-topic but I still cant believe that game. The team, including the defense couldnt do shit in the first half. The second half the offense was cooking and to this day I believe if the defense forced a stop on 3rd down, Sanchez takes the Jets for a TD and JETS are in the SUPERBOWL. That 3rd and long call before the half by B.S was the dagger. That shit had no business being called and was the difference at the end.
Yep. That is why I said a possession away. Give the offense the ball back and no doubt they get the win. They were on fire. Sad.
