Apparently we just signed Stephen Peterman just before picking Winters too. Thank god we're getting some depth, I wasn't keen on Schlauderaff stepping in

The first great pick of the draft in terms of value and need, and bust potential.

Like the pick and really like the draft on the whole. Tanny would have wasted a pick to trade up three spots for a guy that would have come to him regardless. It seems we have a gm that actually values picks and sticks to the process. What a fucken refreshing change for the better.

  5. Like this guy alot. Big strong & physical to go along w/ good feet.

Guard is gonna have some mighty competition this summer.

Hopefully his mean streak can spread. Too many of our OL aren't nasty the way Faneca was. Brick, Vlad...need some saucy guys to get in there and fight.

    Good pick up.

    I approve this pick.

    Fills a need.

Bring back Moore before he is signed.

nice pick by the Jets. OLine is never exciting, but it's essential.

Moore looked like a broken man for more than the second half of 2012. I don't see any use in bringing him back, especially into a new scheme.

i like the pick but this just tells me we made even more of a mistake not taking warmack with the 9.

we passed at warmack who was a value there even though he is a guard and wouldnt have been a reach as he was selected at 10 for a guy i dont really care for at a position i really dont see a need at. and then we draft a lesser guard the next day. it just doesnt make sense to me.

You really don't want a star guard. A good guard gets the job done and you can afford to keep him.

If your contract negotiating skills are weak then you're stuck between the extremes of having a star guard at an unmanageable contract or letting your good guard walk because he wants a star contract.

Somehow based on what I've seen so far I don't think the Jets contract negotiation skills are weak. We'll have Winters for 7+ years at a cap-friendly number. That's what you want in a guard.

This guy is a mauler. Really like him. Might have preferred another player, but I can definitely live with this. Idzik is living by his word- "competition". There's going to be massive competition at guard between Winters, Vlad and Colon.

i have to thank you for keeping after me about this. the more you post stuff like this the more tenable the situation is for me. im having trouble coming to grips with it but you keep posting really good stuff that makes me think about it differently.

I really think Vlad could be a solid RG.

I'm liking the draft so far.. Hopefully Moore can be resigned with the money that we saved from restructuring Brick.
