I'm ok with him in the second round. Glad we didn't move up to get him.

I dont think its possible to fold more times then Suckchez. Half the people who are slamming Smith probably only watched him play once or twice and most only saw the highlights. I'm a WVU fan and have watched everyone of his games the past 2 years. Great arm, accuracy is good, and a student of the game. All of his coaches praised how much extra time he has put in to improve. He can only get better and it isn't possible to be as awful as Sanchez. If he can work on his ball security and throwing the ball away more (he did take too many sacks), he has some upside. A definite risk worth taking in the second round.

Margus Hunt is gonna be a beast. I was hoping he might be there for us in the 3rd.

I would wager the majority never watched one game, and the haters only saw the 15 second negative highlight reel during last nights draft (the poster you quoted included).

In fact the guy has an 80% completion % and 10 tds to 1 int when the play breaks down. A guy like Glennon who these fools would've probably raved about falls apart when the play breaks down.

what need, towel boy? no need was filled unless Rex wanted another QB tatoo.

Waste of a pick for a team that needed a lot of help. I hope we start Smith and go 0-16. then and only then we might actually get a real QB and a real HC.

This pick was to sell tickets and jerseys for a year or two, nothing more. Woody wants everyone to buy thier ticket to the circus.

stupid pick as of right now. The JETS appear to be the simps who saved Geno from more draft embarrassment.

I don't know much about college football, but I am concerned about this pick. More than anything else, a QB has to be a leader of men and someone who wont wilt under pressure. Smith doesn't strike me as that kind of guy. I'm not sure what it is, but it just seems like something is missing there. And in a city like NY, you need to really have that special something in the personality . EJ Manuel (who obviously wasn't there in round 2) is a guy who really exuded that leadership/confidence factor.

And the fact that ball security is an issue with Smith doesn't make me feel any better.

    I hope I am wrong.

Don't get me wrong. If the Jets picked Geno Smith in the 1st round or traded down to get him, I would have flipped shit. Getting him in round 2 is good value. I hope he wins the job in training camp. I like the pick.

I liked the pick. We got what was speculated to be a top 10 pick in the top of the 2nd round. I think Geno can be serviceable QB, but that isn't enough. You need to be great. We will see how he adjusts to the NFL, but I like the value of the pick and I think it outweighs the question marks that Geno, or any QB, would bring

I think the negativity is ridiculous.
Definitely worth a gamble with the 39th pick. I'd like to see him sit behind Garrard in 2013, and then draft a few weapons for him and give it a go in 2014. I don't know if he'll be good, but what I do know is that Sanchez is a God-Awful QB and a dead end for this franchise.
At least with Smith we have somethng we didn't have 24 hours ago - Hope.

I have significantlyv less hope for this franchise now than I did 48 hrs ago. A truly wasteful draft. one of the worst I can remember, capped by a QB that will end up more hated than Sanchez.

With the exception of Eric Ainge, I have never hated a QB more than Sanchez. Mark was a mistake. Time to move on.

We get it, you hate the selection. No need to post the same crap in every thread. Quit beating the dead horse with your uninformed opinions....

Geno Smith may or may not work out. Nobody out there has any clue what the end result of drafting him will be.

Here are the things to keep in mind as a Jets fan:

    1. We took him in the 2nd round: This was NOT a top 10 selection! We took Geno in the beginning of Round 2. Geno will be given a shot to play sometime this football season and if he doesn't clearly show that he is going to be the franchise QB, then why not take a QB in the first round in 2014? My point is we can still take a QB early next year too.

    2. We don't have a starting QB on this roster: We needed to add a young QB to this roster to "compete". If you thought otherwise, you are simply being ignorant. QB was a pick that was going to be made and lucky for the Jets they may have gotten the most promising prospect in Round 2.

    3. The Jets are still Trying: The worst thing the Jets could do is get gun shy after having Mark Sanchez bust on them. We MUST continue to draft QB's until we hit on one.

I don't know if anyone, at this point, should have such strong feelings one way or another about drafting Geno. You can't draft a franchise QB without drafting a QB.
