I will be the first to say this....I like it.

There is no position that fundamentally changes a team more than QB. You don't have one.....you have no chance.
And this is a shot at fixing it.
We have NO QB on the roster that makes us competitive. None.
Smith may fail, but this was worth a shot in the 2nd round. Absolutely.

Smith was rated MUCH higher than this. I did not want him as a #1 because there were better players out there. To get him at #2 is not just good, it is great value.

If you told me we would get Millner, Richardson AND Smith with our first 3 picks WITHOUT trading up I would have called you insane.
Now go get an OG, S, TE and OLB.
And all those positions had the deepest pools of talent to pull from.

Cosign. Even if Geno Smith is the worst QB ever, at pick 39 it's a risk worth taking. I'd prefer having Garrard start out the season and let Geno develop a little, but I don't know what they'll do.

I really feel like this could be Sanchez verion 2.0

By that I mean he's going to be a guy with flashes of great QB play but is just very inconsistent. Due to him having these flashes we will decide to stick with him but he'll just never be a franchise QB, and we miss out on more for sure picks like Bridgewater or Manziel.
Just like with Sanchez 4 years later we decide it's time to try again...

    I want Teddy Bridgewater!

Exactly...If you told me we got those 3 without moving, I wouldn't believe it.

At the very least, let Garrard start until he hurts himself.

I think it's safe to say no one is trading for Tebow now.

DO NOT HAND HIM THE STARTING JOB.

If he wins it, great. If he has to sit for 1/2 a year or a whole year that's fine

Now get Stedman round 3. Taking a QB with Geno's potential in the 2nd round is a no brainer. He has his flaws, he also has immense potential. Up to the Jets to develop him now.

Awesome pick. I'm very pleased at how this draft has gone. We're getting great value at every pick. Now if we could just trade some of these idiot "the sky is falling" Jets fans for a 7th round pick..

I realize it was value pick but I hate this because we have zero chance for Bridgewater or manziel. Fuuuuck.

Maybe Sanchez and Tebow can share a cab ride outta town when Idzik puts their asses on the curb.
