Implying we could find a trading partner who would want the guy.

    Nice...
So now it's only really a 3.5 cap hit when we cut Sanchez..

I'm starting to think it's not a coincidence that this happened a few hours before we could potentially trade up for Geno...

Why would Sanchez restructure when he knows he wont be here next year anyway?

I think someone would be willing to part with a 3rd or 4th for a chance to rehabilitate a QB who has had 2 (recent) years of success.

Sanchez essentially has a no trade clause. No team os foing to pick up 8 mil, amd he wont restructure..unless he wanted to be traded. For 8 mil, he'll carry a clipboard.

He can be cut, but the cap hit would be enormous. And he also has no offset clause, so if he were cut, the Jets are still fucked.

If the Jets and Sanchez didn't get so much negative media..(which we brought upon ourselves)

Then Sanchez would actually be tradeable (probably not a word I know)

Why do players get a pat on theback for restructuring their contract???? All it does is give the player more job security and more gauranteed money on the back end of a contract inflating thei cap number and making it very difficult to be a salary cap casualty like many other veteran players fall victim to. It is not to be confusd with a paycut. It is in the best financial interest of the player to restructure.

    He cant be traded.

MM is the only OC rehabbing him this year.

    And..p.s Geno sucks.

People whine about Sanchez body language implying he's shot...see Geno last might?

Looked a little Fragile to me.

He was feady to cry not going in the first. What happens when he gets stuck with four years of shitty OCs, and no help on offense? In NY.

Say what uou will about Sanchez, he handles the NY media. I think the "im taking my ball and going home" thing Smith pulled last night, does not instill confidence in his ability to weather adversity.

In order to be traded, he would have to agree to restructure to a salary palatable to a trade partner. Why would he bother? It would give him a well paid injury free year to get ready to move on.

Which part of that were you unclear on?

Unless you think someone else is going to pay him 8.25 million.

Thats his guaranteed, no offset clause salary.

You finally admit you dont grasp the basic rudiments of football contracts.
