Either that or defensive tackle. Since our draft board is stacked with cb's and dl's we should be able to get a guy on out top 10.
They are stacking personnel on defense. If they really wanted him to stay, they would balance out the talent. They are preparing for his departure by stacking defensive talent. Never thought I would believe this, but we're going through another coaching change after this season. It's obvious. And sucks.
Tavon Austin vs Dee Milliner reminded me of the 09 NBA Draft where the Knicks and the fans wanted Step Curry to be there at the Knicks pick....but the Warriors took Curry and the Knicks got stuck with Jordan Hill. Have to hope Milliner's far better than Hill :lol:
I can't believe the hate people have for this kid. He hasn't even played yet and the fan base hates him. Only in New York could that be possible. He sounded confident and said he had no problem trying to replace Revis. That is exactly what I want to hear. The Jets spend millions scouting these kids and watch every inch of film on them. I will defer to them. I was hoping for some offense but if you can't score make sure the other team can't either.
I have an ugly feeling the Bucs will light him up in week 1. Assuming he's on the field...and recovered from his injuries...
He's facing Josh Freeman and Mike Williams..... Relatively speaking, it takes 1-2 years for CBs to figure it out. Revis didn't become what he was until 2009, year 3 into his career. I do think Rex/Thurman will make Milliner click though.
Is it the same ugly feeling you get when you look into the mirror in the morning? Maybe it's not a football-related feeling. Do you find yourself having ugly feelings many times during the day? Have you tried heroin? That will take care of ugly feelings. Try heroin.
But keep in mind the Knicks passed on Brandon Jennings. So which player is gonna be the NFL equivalent of Jennings?
Geno Smith if we don't get him in round 2. He'll bolt out of nowhere to meet the commish, bad mouth the Jets for not picking him and be immature and inconsistent :lol:
So I've had some more time to think on this pick and I've come down a little bit as far as my dislike for it goes. Obviously depends on how the rest of the draft goes and making sure we actually address a number of our areas of need, but assuming we do that I don't hate the pick as much now as I did yesterday. I do feel bad for the kid because like everyone is saying people are expecting him to step in day one and play like Revis...even Revis did play like the Revis we know and love on day one, so I feel bad for all the shit he's going to have to listen to.
Here's my big problem with this pick. I was HOPING that the trade of Revis represented a change in philosophy where the front office had put less value on the CB position. I completely understand the salary cap part of the move, but part of that is saying you don't value the CB position as highly as the salary required to pay an all-time great. Unfortunately that is clearly NOT the case. If the Jets had devalued the CB position they never would have had a CB at the top of their value chart at the 9th overall pick. And so this now begs the question, what is the best case scenario with that pick? If Milliner becomes an all-time great player, we trade him away instead of paying him, right? So should we hope he becomes really good, but not great? I'm sure Milliner is a fine player.
