Clearly you have clue about the abilities of the players we have and just drafted. Coples in no way shape or form is an OLB. he's a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 end. You waste his skill set moving him to a position that he is not in any way built for. Richardson is a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 DE. As is Wilk, as is Coples. NONE OF THEM can play 4-3 DE, let alone OLB. Playing 4-3 DE his senior year is what dropped Coples from a top 5 pick to us. It's ASSININE.
We have Wilkerson, Ellis, and Coples. How is drafting yet ANOTHER d-lineman "rebuilding" considering we are running a 3-4 and all three of those guys are super young?
To be honest, I expected him to say we got the top 2 players on our board, not 2 of our top 4 players Floyd fell farther than most people expected.
Coples won't be playing OLB! The Jets are moving to a 4-3, that's the thinking I believe! Coples, Ellis, Richardson, and Wilkerson. This is our D-Line going forward!
Jesus Christ people learn the game! None of our 3-4 DEs is a 4-3 DE. NONE. In a 4-3, Calvin freaking Pace is a DE. These are the same people who say "just make Tebow an hback" "make Cro a WR" "move Harris to 4-3 OLB" and on and on.
oh sorry for some reason i thought that was a sheldon report. yeah i mean it clearly shows that lots of teams werent too high on flloyd based solely on where he was drafted
yeah but no...coples and mo wilk can both play 4-3 DE. Mo Wilk can arguably play DT in certain situations in a 4-3 as well. as for your other odd comparisons...people were saying that about tebow when thinking of special packages....same from Cro...and whoever said harris should be an OLB should kill themselves...I've never seen or heard that but maybe I blocked it out of my memory.
Can't our line be wilkerson-Richardson-Coples? Why is everyone complaining we have a nice line a really good secondary only 2 positions that need help on D are we need 1 OLB and 1 S, Offensively i say TE, and WR
let's not forget kenrick ellis... and yeah im curious to see how rounds 2 - 4 go...im willing to bet itll be offense heavy. and hopefully sprinkle in an ivory trade. as for safety, I'm really hoping they move Kyle Wilson to safety, I've been saying since the end of year 1 that he'd be a good fit there if the Jets aren't willing to roll him at #2 CB.
I'm not thrilled about the positions selected..that said there were virtually no options in terms of offensive talent short of a severe reach. I believe the jets really did go BPA. Sometimes BPA is painful but it is the easiest way to build up a roster & establish accountability within a scouting department. Jets took 2 very good players. I think both could be play makers in the Jets scheme. Richardson is really impressive on film. Extremely disruptive & freakishly athletic. Jets now have 3 match-up nightmares up front w/ Coples,Wilk & Richardson. All 3 bring something different to the table that will be difficult to contend w/. I'm curious to see what types of schemes Rex draws up. Jets weren't gonna fill all their holes in the draft. That's unrealistic & no way to build a winner. At the very least I highly doubt either player will be a bust & both have pro bowl potential.
No running backs yet, only one QB. I guess the Jets see this like everyone else. One TE selected and three receivers. There are quality players for tomorrow. Finding real players in the late rounds is how you evaluate the team's drafter. There are many solid players in the NFL who were low round picks. Find them and coach them.
LMFAO.....Mo Wilkerson and Quinton Coples can play 4-3 DE, and they'd be JAGS. It's not their natural position, and completely destroys the value they give you and what you drafted them for. Richardson can't play it either. None of them can play NT either, including Richardson. It's a horrendously stupid way to spend the most important draft in years.
