Eifert would have been fine there. Hopefully Sheldon Richardson can be Justin Smith 2.0....I am just trying to be optimistic.
With no NFL-caliber starter at SS, RG, TE, or ROLB, we took two positions where we already had capable starters in Wilson and Ellis, respectively. And Richardson doesn't even fit the system. This is mind-boggling. Completely mind-boggling.
You all DO know we have 6 more picks in a draft DEEP with WRs, OL RBs and TEs correct? Although I'm NOT thrilled with the Richardson pick, I am NOT at all enthralled with Garray or Ellis at the NT/DT position. Looking at the film, the kid is a BEAST. I like the Milliner pick personally. NO, he's NOT Revis, but who is besides Revis? Let's just see what rounds 2 - 7 bring us before we all lose it. No I'm not Sunshiner, but I'm saying, let's all just chill for a second and see how the rest of the draft goes before we put the cart before the horse.
If we switch to a 4-3/46, what do we line up with? Coples-Richardson-Ellis-Wilkerson? Can Coples and Wilk play the outside? I feel they're both better fits on the inside. I really don't get this pick.
Bottom line is there are so many needs that need to be addressed we could have put names in a hat, picked, and improved. I'm good with these picks because they address needs. We messed up by not selecting Warmack, but who saw all the other OTs getting picked that high? In the end, these are all still guys we haven't seen play pro ball and we don't know how it's going to pan out. Keep the faith guys.
Two SEC players. Clearly the Jets wanted players going up against the top competition. Can't say I fault them on that logic. Also must be some issues with Floyd as he's plummeting. Wondering how he projects as a NT. Same build as Star who many would have preferred. I trust Rex on DL. It's Milliner over Warmack that bothers me. Hopefully we can get Kyle Long or Justin Pugh in the second
I agree. When it comes to defense, Rex knows how to evaluate players. If there were players that the Jets wanted, they were already selected b4 the Jets picked.
I don't understand what everyone is so upset about, we still have plenty of picks to address offense. I don't see this as much of a big deal.
What are you talking about? We have Calvin Pace #crying Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Jets will officially be unwatchable in 2013. Team has improved in no meaningful way, and there is absolutely NOTHING to be excited about on the offensive side of the ball. Seriously, Idzik... WTF are you doing.
one of his downsides is that he isnt as strong against the double team, but with wilk and coples hes not likely to see many of those everything i can find about him talks about his effort, so im gonna assume that he will work hard for the team and i definitely like that. good attitude to bring into the locker room young and quick on d, even our line haha
Let's hope there 4 can dominate inside and they can label them The CREW Coples, Richardson, Ellis, Wilkerson
I really don't have a problem with picking Sheldon Richardson, its where we picked him that I have a problem with. There is no way that you could justify picking Richardson at 13 when you have a ton of actual needs. We are fine on the defensive line without Richardson, plus this marks the third straight year that we have taken a D-Lineman in the first round. If Richardson was available in the second round, it might not have been a bad pick, but taking him at 13 is absolutely unacceptable.
He doesn't know sh*t about offense and it shows, and our linebackers are still weak and old at best, every year it is DL or CB with this guy
