you really think there's any hope for sanchez this year and beyond? especially after the butt fumble and all those ridiculous turnovers he caused? i honestly think he's toast. he is mentally destroyed and simply lacks the accuracy to be an NFL QB.

I agree he could be mentally shot here, that's my biggest concern. Physically he still has all the tools to be a very good QB but what he went through last year can kill a career. We will see.

We are better off just cutting him..especially if we draft a QB this weekend. He will never be worth the money he has been paid and is being paid now and will always be one turnover away from being booed off the field, made a fool of by the media and be the cause of dissension for the team.

Let him get on with his life

Where did I hear that before...

    Ah, right. Ghost.

What matters the most is the stuff between ears. Sanchez and Ghost both fail at that. That's where the problem comes from. (Horrible mechanics, piss-poor sight adjustments, one bone-headed INT after another - that is not a problem of physical shortcomings. Pennington was limited by his injuries - that's when the physical limits put a clamp on the progress of a player. That is certainly not the case with Sanchez.)

And his play since cost Tannenbaum his job.

I guess is was the right thing to do, since it was wrong.

Gholston never did a thing in this league, mark has been a good QB and a winning QB. To compare the 2 is just silly. Read what Cowher had to say today, he offers some rational thoughts on Mark.

the lack of depth which killed our QB this year is what cost Mike his job.

FWIW, I would love for Sanchez to prove us all wrong, even the douchebags at Radio City, because that means we have an NFL QB.

we all would. But you have a better chance of junc admitting Herm Edwards was a retarded retard than you do seeing Sanchez play well.

He might be the dumbest QB of all time

The amazing part is the Jets didn't actually give up anything to get Sanchez as it worked out, at least inasmuch as the guys we traded/Cleveland picked were all scrubinis or quickly off the team/out of the league. And Sanchez's contract wouldn't be hamstringing us if it weren't for the Peyton dalliance and Tanny's ill-fated bonus that they had to give him because of it.

And as bad as Sanchez was for three of the four years of his career, at least it wasn't a Vernon Gholston, at least he was 'something' of an asset for a couple years.

Gholston was on the team when we went to two AFC championship games, so by the same logic he's a winning LB.

All kidding aside, Gholston was better for this franchise than Sanchez has been. Ghoston was a bust, but at least he sat on the bench where he belonged and didn't screw us up on gameday. Sanchez is a bust that plays just well enough (and negotiates contracts well enough) to stay on the team and lose games for us.

I'd rather draft a Gholston any day.

lol that's just ridiculous. First of all they get paid the same amount because they were drafted at the same point in the draft.

Nobody was saying this when Sanchez was playing well in the playoff games two and three years ago. Even those few games' worth of play made him worth more than Gholston.

was he a starter at a premium position? you don't win 4 road playoff games and get to back to back title games w/ poor QB play. This is a fact most of the sanchez whiners don't seem to grasp.

how can a bust play "just well enough"? a bust is a player that can't play.

This is where I'm at too. I think the Jets push to "win now" forced them to mishandle Sanchez since they brought him here and its hurt his development badly. Rather than emphasizing putting long term pieces in place around him, they tried to force him onto a veteran roster and replace Brett Favre.

That almost worked out, but came up short (through no fault of his own). Then when they had to start compensating for the win now acquisitions they made, they forced him into a role where he had to either elevate the rest of the team or go down in a blaze of fire and that's exactly what he did. He hadn't proven that he could handle being "the guy" and was pulled down with the tide.

I'm worried they've destroyed him mentally and that he's got the jitters permanently now. If that's the case then he's finished. It also doesn't help that there's absolutely no certainty about the coaching staff or the scheme for next season.

Some just love Sanchez and can't bear to admit the truth. Sanchez is a sack of shit, but the homer glasses blind some fans.

Hell, I still believed in Sanchez until last year.
