not the same. Thomas was a 1st round pick, Emmit a 6th round pick. everyone passed on Emmit. hell, the Jets could have had both. it isn't the same as taking a QB and the next team takes the other QB, and that second QB is the better of the two.
Emmitt was a 1st rd pick but everyone including Jimmy Johnson had Blair rated higher. It doesn't always work out according to plan.
Yeah thats not a good comparison, its like saying we are idiots for passing on Arian Foster, not choosing Tom Brady, etc...Like every other team. The 1st round misses hurt more as they were in everybody's scouting report as top picks
Emmitt was something like the 17th pick in 1st rd. Thomas was the consensus top RB in the draft and we would've been laughed out of the building if we took Emmitt over Thomas at the time. Emmitt was extremely overrated anyway. Kenny O over Marino is by far the biggest draft blunder the Jets have ever made. We are not talking about the over 40 yr drought right now and Marino retires with at least one ring. Marino would've been Marino with better weapons and our OL wouldn't have looked nearly as bad with him QBing all those years instead of Kenny O. Marino and Sapp should be exhibit A & B of why teams should not remove players based solely off of a failed drug test.
I don't think people realize just how much better the NFC was than the AFC in those days. Obviously Marino makes us better but I doubt we ever win or even get to a SB. By the time we had the talent/coaching it was 1998 and marino as running on fumes by that point.
Elway and Manning make me sick the way there "Daddy's" helped them force the trade . I loved how elway played.Like a true warrior. But did you guy's see him standing behind his dad like a spoiled rotten kid that if he don't get his way. He stomps his feet and cry's.
