Those experts might know that Last 2 seasons with Revis on the field (1,066 plays): 15 TDs, 23 INTs. Without him (945 plays): 20 TDs, 7 INTs

But even with that disparity trading up for a CB is insane. Not to mention I hate the idea of taking a CB this year in the 1st round and having that guy be compared to revis to the rest of his career. Simply not fair to the kid.

That scenario makes absolutely no sense. The whole point of the Revis trade was to acquire more picks namely a 1st rd'er. That trade would be beyond moronic.

Gil seems like a really nice guy, but that is just baffling

    Fire Brandtzik.

Seriously, I can't think of any option worse than this one. Id rather trade up for Geno, at least then we may have a quarterback. And lord knows I do not want to trade up for a QB...

It has to do with taking two plus players at positions of impact and turning them into one plus player at a position of lower impact and using the draft pick that you got for Darrelle Revis as half of that bargain in order to select somebody who probably isn't going to be more than half the player Revis was even if he works out.

First off, calling him the most talented prospect in the draft is your opinion and that's all. Secondly talent doesn't always equate to success in the NFL and that's been well documented in numerous drafts through the years. Finally and most importantly, we just gave up our best player in recent history so that we could gain another first rounder. The last thing we want to do is give one of those valuable first rounders up when we have so many needs to address and need all the high picks we can get.

Most talented prospect in draft? You are overrating the shit out of him. It's very debatable if he is even the most talented CB in the draft, let alone overall.

What's your scouting report on him?

  9. Never been a fan of "treading water" draft picks after trading a great player. Jets had too much salary cloged up in CB's...why would it make sense to bring another in?

Jets are currently 4 deep at corner w/ Cromartie,Wilson,Trufant & Lankster. That's pretty good. No sense bringing in another guy.

He covered every #1 WR he has faced... IMO he was better than Kirkpatrick last year.

He has good size, great speed and excellent football IQ. He covers so well that it gives more time for the pass rush to develop.

He is the ONLY player in this draft i would even consider moving up for. If there is no deal to be made for Dee i would stand pat or move back.

Any Bama fan will tell you that after they lost Kirkpatrik CB, Barron S and Hightower LB (all 1st rounders last year) they thought their secondary was going to suffer. Milliner took on the responsibility of being the best player on D and he THRIVED and were better without the "big 3" they lost!!! End of story.

IMO Milliner will make us all forget about Mevi$.

Who ever drafts him will get a gem. He will be a top 5 CB in the league within 3 years.

Anyone criticizing a move like that needs to watch some Bama film AND speak to a knowledgeable Bama enthusiast.

Milliner will be the best player in this draft.

He is the real deal and has been a winner his entire life.

We need true blue chip prospects and if we have a chance to add a guy who is a winner and is the best prospect in the draft... We should.

Enough mediocrity! I want the best! I want winners!

    Yeah.....this isn't happening. No chance

And if by some chance it does, Idzik's reign as GM is over before it even began.

so you're okay with him being only 21 and already having 5 surgeries?

you're also okay with giving away draft picks for one player when we have numerous holes and need multiple young, cost-effective players to build this team around?

The Jets already have a good amount of money tied up to CB, and if they invest in their front-seven to pressure the QB, that will make the CBs they have even better because the QBs won't have time to wait for a WR to get open

The surgeries dont bother me because they were all minor and didn't effect his play.

We have holes no doubt and that is a valid point. I feel he is the ONLY player in this draft worthy of making a big move on.

The pass rush and the secondary feed off each other... It's not a one way street! If a corner blankets the #1 option it makes the QB hold on to the ball longer... This leads to more time for the pass rush to get there.

yes and no... Even when the Jets had Revis & Cromartie, they were never better than middle of the pack at getting to the QB because the opposing team would just go to the slot WRs and TEs.

Having a good pass rush forces the opposing QB to either get rid of the ball quickly w/o progressing through the reads, or taking a sack

    1. Trading up = moronic

    2. Drafting CB with that pick = double whammy

No fucking wonder Brandt is not working for any NFL franchise these days.

    Dee Milliner

According to Gil Brandt we will make a deal with the raiders to move up to #3 and select Dee Milliner. Could some of you that follow this kid give some insight into why this pick would work or not. Thanks. This is based on the NFL network reporting this morning and the latest mock that Mr. Brandt has come up with.

This would honestly be the worst move this franchise could ever make in this draft. We trade a CB (a position we are actually pretty good at), and then follow up by trading up using high draft picks that we can not afford to lose for a CB that would instantly be compared to Revis? Fuck no.

Milliner is a good player, but no Revis. He doesnt have great ball skills and his medicals are a huge concern.

You dont build a rebuilding team through the secondary. Period. We invested too many resources in the secondary recently. I would be pretty pissed/shocked if we drafted a CB before the 4th round.

I dont like the idea of doing this, but if it pans out he could be a great CB that would be a lot cheaper than the last one.
