Jets trade #9 pick to the Vikings for their two first round picks this year.

With the 13th pick the Jets select, Jarvis Jones.

With the 23rd pick the Jets select, Matt Elam.

With the 25th pick the Jets select, Tyler Eifert .

With the 39th pick the Jets select, Larry Warford.

With the 72nd pick the Jets select, Baccari Rambo.

In my opinion, this would be a really good first coupe rounds for us. Fills some holes early with what I believe to be talented players.

I still really like Jarvis Jones, I think that he will do well in the NFL.

I love Matt Elam, my favorite safety in the draft. He's a hard hitter, and many say that he's underrated when it comes to his coverage skills.

The 25th pick was tough for me. It was hard deciding between Tyler Eifert, and Demontre Moore. I would also consider trading this pick with a team looking to move up for one of the QBs. I have to add that this pick was just me not really knowing who to pick and just went for it all. I was also considering D.J. Hayden here. Best case for this pick is we trade it to a team looking for a QB.

I'm not a big fan of picking guards in the top of the first. Looking at the elite guards today, almost all of the where chosen in the 3rd round or later, some in the second, and I think Mankins is the only one that I saw that was picked in the first. Warford is good, he's a good run and pass blocker and athletic enough get to the second level.

In the 3rd we have Baccari Rambo, my second favorite safety in the draft. With such a deep safety class, I don't think that the signing of Dawan Landry should stop us from picking our two future starting safety's. I think that a combo of Rambo (FS) and Elam (SS) would make a great backfield.

Lol, IMO, that's at least 4 instant starters. 5 if both safety's beat out Dawan.

    Abslutely.

Jones would be a bad ass, Eifert will most likely be a HUGE upgrade over Keller, Warford would be solid and add needed talent to our OL, Elam will start with Landry, and Rambo woud probably sub in and out with Landry or Elam.

If this happen, Idzik would be the fuckin man!

Honestly this would be A+ for me.

We trade a 5th for Ivory and draft a later round QB (maybe Dysert in the 4th if possible) and maybe another LB or WR in the later picks and it might be the best possible draft (plus trade for Ivory) that we could have.

If Idzik pulls this off, I'll drink myself past the midnight, probably into the morning.

This could possibly happen too. I don't think that I under values players. I think that I choose each player at a spot that is very likely for them to be available.

I'm glad that some of you like it though.

Why would the Vikings trade 2 firsts to get to number 9? Never happen. Wishful thinking.

Everyone is rumored to be trading down. The booty for trading up is going to be less if that's the case.

I've seen on here that the trade chart or whatever it's called, has the value of the #9 pick around the same as the 23 and 25 together. If they truly want to trade up like its been reported, then that's what I would take.

Normally it would be close on value points that you're referring to. Even then, you maybe 100 plus points light.

Point I'm alluding to is that their will be lots of opportunity to move up, and the real value of this draft hangs around 20 plus. This year I bet we would get 23, 3rd, and 6th (2nd, 5th etc..something multiple)

I like your players, but Eifert isn't going to make it to #25, he's now a top 15 player.

Yeah I kind of ha that in mind, but the other mocks he's been there.

Anyways, if he isn't there at 25, I wouldn't be too upset. There are still other players worth the pick.

I was about to put D.J. Hayden there too. I've started watching him and I'm very impressed with his ability to jump the routes for the pick. He's a good man to man corner too. I have noticed that his named is getting more and more popular though, so he may not even be available.

What do you think about D.J.?

I like this draft - somehow though I think Eifert won't make it down that far - but I like the idea of trading down and filling needs - Jets are at a great position ( 9 ) to get offers from other teams that want a top 10 player.

Yeah I get what your saying. I guess I'm just trying to think best case scenario here. I had trouble picking someone for that 25th pick anyways, solid we where to not get it I wouldn't really mind. Those extra mid round picks might actually be better for us.

I'm on phone so I don't have value calculator on me. I'd still move down for multiples. I just fear the moving down market is going to be fierce this year.

Even though he's not Italian, it would be pretty awesome if the Jets drafted a guy named Rambo.

    Normal value would be:

    13th (1,150) = 23 (760) +52 (380) +102 (92) =1132 total Which is the 23rd + 2nd + 4th.

But this year the 13th pick is not worth as much as normal. It is a buyers market not a sellers market. Everyone wants out of the top 20 picks as its a very weak top half of the draft but a deep in rounds 2-4. Given the market this year, the Vikings 23rd and their 2nd pick the 52nd is likely more than enough for our 13th.

I don't think the Vikings would give up 23 and 25 for the 13. 23 and a 2nd and a 5th is probably more realistic. And I'd still take that.

Get rid of Jones for someone like Austin and this draft would be great. Especially if we pick Dysert and a OLB in the later rounds.

Jones won't last long in this league with the injury he has. It'd be a complete waste of value to pick him at 9 or 13, or anywhere in the 1st round really.
