Are the Celtics this bad offensively since Rondo went down, or the Knicks kicked it up? Melo with a good postagame. We didn't do anything. Gotta protect HC. Then when asked about the tragedy in Boston, we are one nation , one country, USA.
Knicks kicked it up for sure...Celtics lack offensive talent but the Knicks were letting Green and Bradley score on them very easily. We took care of business in game 1, onto the next.
I thought we kicked it up too, but wasn't sure if it was me being excited. The Celtcis don't have an offense if we just don't turn it over. If we don't let them run, they have nothing. Granted Pierce should probably shoot better, but so should one of Novak/Prg/Cope for us
Really miss the good old days. This 2 days off crap is a killer...real killer. You have to be kidding me. You open with 4 games on Sat..and 4 on Sunday...it would take just a few games to get a routine going with at least every other day. Old days...a 7 game series would be over in 12-14 days...sometimes even 10 days with back to back home games...day off...back to back road games...then off home..off away...off home. Done. While that was a heavy load there is no reason to have 2 days off after every game.
I hate it too. They want to stagger it so there are games every night though so this is what they do. But we shouldn't get stuck with 2 day rest then another 2 day rest.
Was thinking about the signings this morning of Kidd, Pablo, Martin..retaining J.R. getting Copeland...getting Chandler instead of waiting for the dream team 3rd guy..all without getting anything from the first dream teamer A.S. and cant see how Grunwald doesnt get GM of the year regardless of what this team does from here on. The only thing he did not do is make James a bit less great because I really do believe that player...like Jordan in the past..is the only thing keeping the Knicks out of the finals. Not to say it cant be done. A little sprained ankle by him or Wade would be an early christmas gift...sorry..if no one else is thinking it shame on you...lol.
Cope and Prigs were great signings. Makes you think players over there might be better than snagging some D league player over here. Great post highlighting all our moves, I mean he's did really well. Lebron James is going to run the East like Jordan did. I wish we could see the Heat in the West. The West would be absolutely loaded. Playoff type games all year long.
displaced, weren't you the guy who was predicting the Nets to finish higher than the Knicks this year? how's that working out?
Yeah I'm happy I was wrong. I can't find the posts in this thread though, maybe it was in last years thread? I thought on paper the Nets had a better team and would finish higher than us in the Atlantic by a few games if I remember correctly. Don't remember the exact prediction. Did not see this offensive adjustment coming from Woodson at all. He hasn't shown much of it in the past, I'm gladly surprised by it and will take it. Felton exceeded my expectations. JR has. Prigs has. Copeland obviously has. Kidd has defensively/rebounding. KMART has tremendously. It's been a fun regular season
what reasoning did you have for brooklyn finishing higher? did you really think deron was more valuable than melo?
I don't remember it was 6 months ago now, but if I had to take a guess: Felton was coming off a terrible year. Amare was out for months. Shumpert was out for months. Sheed was coming out of retirement basically. Camby/Thomas were there for spot duty. I saw us being a good team but I didn't see us being this good. I thought we were going to be like last year and play a lot of Melo with 2 bigs instead of Melo at the 4. On the other hand, the Nets were relatively healthy and had Deron/Joe/Lopez. While Joe is overpaid he is still a solid player and Lopez is very good down low. I thought that they would be able to gain a big enough lead in the Atlantic by the time Amare/Shump came back we wouldn't be able to catch them. I'm guessing that was my reasoning? I can't find the post about it. Lemme try searching for it
Can't find it anywhere. Not sure which basketball thread I posted it in. I did find myself thinking the Lakers won't make the playoffs in January so I missed on that.
to be every other day they'd need four playoff games a night and they want to minimize playoff games happening at the same time. Plus they like stretching it out for TV networks, to get big time games happening in the right slots. Kills the rhythm. What is that Terry picture showing? I think the Nets are actually more talented but never really jelled. In terms of talent, the Nets would be right there for 2nd in the East with a healthy Bulls team.
busy night tonight 1) Knicks game 2) Rangers game 3) 30 for 30 Elway to Marino 4) Storage Wars (yeah, i watch it)
