I'm gonna do two of these, one with a trade down and one without. I think we'll try and trade one of the 1sts but whether we do or not I don't really know. We need players and bad so I can see Idzik getting it done.

With trade down of 1st round picks

    1st Round
    #9 Traded to San Francisco for 1st round (31) 2nd round (34 from KC) 4th round (128)
#13 Jonathon Cooper OG - North Carolina
#31 Matt Elam SS - Florida

    2nd Round
#34 (From San Francisco) Damontre Moore DE/OLB - Texas A&M
#39 Gio Bernard RB - North Carolina

    3rd Round
#72 Jordan Reed TE - Florida

    4th Round
#106 Johnathon Bostic ILB - Florida
    #128 B.W. Webb CB/PR - William & Mary

    5th Round
#141 Marqise Goodwin WR - Texas

    6th Round
    # 178 Sean Renfree QB - Duke

    7th Round
    # 215 Jose Jose DT - Central Florida

We pick up a bunch of players and in positions we need depth. Obviously Cooper is the 2nd best guard in the draft but fits our offense better. I think the fact that we resigned Howard means it's likely we are fine with him on the right side but if things don't work out we go OT next year. It's a rebuild and won't be done overnight. Elam would end the revolving door of safety's this team has brought in over the years and hopefully solidify the defensive backfield with Wilson and Cromartie. Moore probably won't be there at #34 but if he is it's a no brainer. Bernard would be ideal in the WCO out of the backfield as he can catch and he's good in open space. With no Keller we need a TE, Reed is the best after Ertz and Eifert. I think Bostic is a good value pick in the 4th and would provide solid depth. Not sure how Webb translates to the Nickel but a 4 year starter in a pretty good 1AA conference as well as a multipurpose player. Goodwin is an explosive player and as the 4th option would be able to ease into the NFL and be moved to the slot next year, he's also an unreal kick returner. Renfree might be the smartest QB in the draft (I know we have McElroy) but he came from a college coach who has put a few succesful QB's into the NFL. Have to be honest Jose Jose just love the fact that he has 2 first names. He's an interesting prospect who likely won't get drafted but has been worked out be a few teams.

    Now with no trade
#9 Jarvis Jones OLB - Georgia
    #13 Kenny Vacarro S - Texas
    #39 Kyle Long OT/OG - Oregon
    #72 Da'Rick Rogers WR - Tennessee Tech
#106 Kenjon Barner RB - Oregon
#141 Joseph Fauria TE - UCLA
#178 Sean Renfree QB - Duke
#215 Jose Jose DT - UCF

In the 1st we get our pass rusher and big time safety, two positions the Jets have lacked for years. Long has a lot of potential but has had some off field issues. Rogers might be the best WR in the draft but like Long personal off field issues will drop him. He has everything you want in a WR and if he keeps his head on straight he could be a very good WR for a long time. Barner is an explosive playmaker and Fauria had a disapointing combine but a huge red zone target.

Amazing mock ! Kudos to you for this I like Goodwin he is faster then Austin in my eyes and can catch decently
    Gio is a favorite !
And almost everyone you picked filled a vital position.
I will pray for something like this on draft day this is just about the best draft I have seen this year

I actually think I prefer the the draft without the trades. Especially like the first 3 picks. Would love either Vaccaro or Elam and have a feeling that actually Elam would fit our D BETTER than Vaccaro now that Revis is gone.

(Off topic ...Bucky Brooks has us taking Ansah AND Jordan with our first 2 picks ???)

Bucky Brooks is a loon. Does Ansah even fit our scheme? He's a freak for sure but I don't think we draft him.

With Goodwin and Hill we'll have 1/2 of a good 4 x 100 meters relay team. Too bad the NFL uses footballs and not batons.

Hill might have trouble catching the baton also.

That was before the Revis trade. He meant to say Ansah to TB, not NY.

The more I think about it I like the 2nd mock better. I love the idea of Rogers, Jones and Vaccaro. Barner would be a good 3rd down back but can do a lot when he has the ball in his hands. I heard him on the radio yesterday and he sounds like a really smart kid.
