They struggled last season but Steelers will be on the game again, they are in a good position for the draft, they always draft well, Big Ben is supposed to be healthy , I don't see them all that bad for the season
WTF is up with the "Subway" map schedule? Looks like some 5th grader made it. Trying to be different and fancy is not the way to go...IMO.
Or going into the bye week they could be, 0-9 1-8 2-7 3-6 4-5 5-4 6-3 8-1 9-0 If everyone is such a great prognosticator then why haven't you all won the Powerball, or some other lottery? We haven't even gotten to the draft yet, or how the team is going to shape up. I am just looking forward to seeing my team play again, and hoping for a competitive season.
I don't think Revis is shot, but he may not be his usual stellar self early on. It may take him a few games to get back to form, and by that time the Jets will have already played against him, and the Bucs. Assuming of course that trade happens.
If the O line gets the help it needs AND we get a real RB AND.....Sanchez pulls off a "Drew Brees" (ie: finally coming to life in year five) then we could easily win 10-11 games and be in the wild card. But I'm going for 8-8 tops right now.
Quality QB play is going to be the biggest factor. I have little hope that Sanchez is just going to suddenly become something that he never was. I hear a lot of comparisons of other QBs coming to life in year X Y Z. Last year it was Sanchez can be like Eli and come to life in year 4. The thing is, in his first year as a full time starter in 2005 Eli had 24 TD and 17 Ints. He had 24 Tds and 19 Ints in 2006. Both of those seasons were statistically better than his 4th year when he won the Super Bowl. He didn't just come alive in year 4. Drew Brees didn't start a single game his first season. His 3rd year starting (4th in the league) he threw 27 TDs and 7 Ints. Prior to that, he only had 1 season with more Ints than TDs. I think a better comparison would be to Alex Smith. In 2010 the 49ers ranked 25th in rushing attempts and 22nd in passing attempts and they won 6 games. The next year under Harbaugh, they ranked 31st in passing attempts and 3rd in rushing attempts. That is a big shift. Harbaugh knew the weaknesses of his QB. I really don't believe Smith just came alive that year, but rather they ran a system that worked with his strengths and weaknesses. They rode a strong defense and running game to the NFC Champ game. Although that was a successful season for them, that is not the type of QB you want on your team. You don't want a guy that requires a strong running game and D to be a little above average.
This schedule does have me pretty excited about the upcoming start of the football season. In a 4-5 day span to open we get the Revis reunion in our first game and then at the Pats that Thursday following. We'll find out real quick whether or not we suck (probably going to be a yes on that one) and it's 2 great storyline/rivalry games right off the bat. Despite likely being in for a rough year, I'm excited for the season to start. The opening game, as expected, got a lot more interesting. Although I'm disappointed we had to part ways with Revis, it'll be fun to have the reunion so soon. Hopefully he doesn't burn us in it.
Fvck this league for setting us up to be embarassed at home in Week 1 and fvck the Jets for going along with the script and handing them Revis for a mid first-rounder and late third.
A lot can happen between now and when they officially kick this thing off, but my initial reactions are that it is going to be tough for this team to get wins before that bye week. This team will have a lot of new faces trying to gel and the schedule makers didn't do them any favors by stacking this schedule early on. It's very possible they are looking at 1 win (Buffalo) at the bye IMO.
Anywhere from 0-16 to 16-0 could be our record. No but I'm all honesty I see us going anywhere from 4-12 to 7-9 I want TEDDY BRIDGEWATER !!!
he'll be a Raider in my eyes they're horrible I want Marcus Mariota aka Colin Kaepernick meets Russell Wilson
I think it's a 50/50 we get him Raiders need a QB just as bad I figure who ever does worse this next upcoming season gets him. But who knows ? Clowney would still be there too tho .
I will hold my final judgement until after the draft and training camp roster moves, but as of right now, this looks like a 4-6 win team. The schedule before the bye is absolutely brutal. @NE, @ATL, @CIN, PIT, NE, NO are all really, really tough games. @TEN is no cupcake either.
It's not being a party pooper, its being a realist. If this team wins more than 4, it will be an accomplishment. Idzik and company are looking at 2015. We'll see if they can get it done
It looks like the theme of this year will be revenge of former recent Jets, especially to start out. This looks wild. Week 1: Revis Week 2: Tebow Week 3: Pettine Week 4: Greene Week 6: Cotchery, Burress Week 7: Tebow Week 8: John Connor, Aaron Maybin Week 9: Jason Smith, Jim Leonhard Week 11: Pettine Week 12: Ihedigbo Week 13: Keller Week 15: Hartsock Week 17: Keller Looks like we'll find out directly who got the better of these deals! 13 of 16 games will be against recent former Jets. It should be wild ride!
Maybin and Terminator play for the Bengals? They aren't locks to make the team even. Leonhard and Jason Smith play for the Saints? ^
