The fact is that Sanchez has been trash the past two years (and wasn't too great the first two). However, the Jets need to trade/cut Tebow asap and draft some good receivers and give Sanchez this one last year. To me this is a throw away year unless Rex can work some crazy magic. Give Sanchez another shot and see if he can develop into at least a mid tier QB. If not, we get a good pick next year and move forward.
All the non Jets fans focus on the buttfumble because it's funny and summed up the Jets season and Sanchez that season. Just atrociously bad football. Jets fans focus on it because it sums up Sanchez right now. No situation awareness, poor ball security, poor decision making, tunnel vision and doesn't see the whole field. That sums up all his problems.
The problem with that is you are never going to win anything with a mid-tier quarterback. He is as much out the door as Revis was no matter what he does short of getting this team deep into the playoffs again. He might even be gone in the next couple of weeks if the Jets draft a QB and they will just take the hit. Probably not but we will see. You can bet the house that he won't be back next year though.
There are really only two things left you can do if you like or hate Sanchez if he is on the roster come opening day. 1. Root for him hope he can succeed on the new offense 2. Hope he fails miserably and the Jets move on For all the hopeing he fails crowd just look around the league and all the teams that have drafted multiple QBS. It could be another 10 years before we get a "franchise" Qb
1 should be hope he succeeds like a top 10 QB on the new offense. Success vs last year just means being average. That isn't good enough. You need more from him. I said it earlier, you need him to master the system that MM brings and rise with it, you don't want the system propping him up making him look better than he is.
He is not right because he is blaming it on everyone but Sanchez who was directly responsible. It was Sanchez who forgot the play and turned out the wrong way on the hand off to Hilliard. It was Sanchez who ran 6 yards before heading square into the backside of Moore. Making up crap that Moore was thrown into Sanchez is Hobbes at his best. :rofl2:
Fans might not like it but Sanchez is the likely opening day starter. There's gonna be boo birds but it won't matter if Rex decides to sink or swim with Sanchez.
Sorry if i hit a nerve there ;-) Are 4 and 7 point games "thrashing" defeats for you? To me, maybe in hockey but not in football. More to the point, you cited that 54-point game only to throw water on Farve's 6 TD accomplishment like it was no big deal. Like it or not, Farve's headed to the HOF. And like it or not the Cards that year won their conference championship game and got to the SB. You: ""Who cares what Madden & Lombardi said..." Yeah, who cares that they're both in the HOF along with Joe Namath (whom you've inferred that Sanchez could "hang with"). Frankly, I'm not sure what the Jet brass feels as far as 2013 being a do-or-die year for Sanchez in 2013 being that the team is going to be in a state of flux what with the many new faces, OC, Rex status, etc. But he probably better show some big time bounce back promise or he's holding a clipboard somewhere else. And again, stop taking every potshot or tweak about Mark Sanchez as a personal affront.
You know if Sanchez had any nuts he would go on ESPN comments or any website that allows comments to be posted in articles about the Jets. People fucking trash the hell out of him. It would be nice if finally he could grow a pair and shove it up everyone's ass.
I hope I speak for most Nacho haters as we are called, but I root and cheer for him in every game. I want him to be awesome in every aspect of playing Qb. I guess I'm just an average fan when I say he can't play the position well enough to be a mid to top tier Qb. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to watch any pro football game to see a good one from a bad one. Nacho is not any where near capable of being a top flight Qb. He doesn't have the heart, or the mind. To the Nacho lovers, you can place stats, the occasional good game, playoff wins, or whatever else you can, but you also have watched good Qb's and its obvious he isn't even decent. I'm sure this season, like all Jets fans, ill cheer him on. I cheered for Richard Todd, even when it was obvious to me that he sucked. Sancho sucks just as bad as Todd did, probably worse. It's very evident though, with the team we have for now that we won't be sniffing the AFC championship again with Nacho as Qb. The only reason we made it to both conference title games is because we had Super Bowl caliber teams that fell short due to our ineptness at the most important offensive position in football. New offense or not I believe the most we will ever get out of sanchise is mediocre Qb play. We still don't have our franchise qb that will lead us to the promise land, so here is to 10 more years of searching!
Maybe you should actually watch the play asshole. The guard is upright, and wilfork get under hom, and flings him aside like a rag doll. Laughing like a loon, only makes you one, Reality beckons. And..i would venture to request a little sig bet.., when the jets finish better than last year, you keep your sig, thru 2014, with the phrase...im a moron appended to to it...the Jets finish worse than 6-10, ill take your quote of my post, and append the same.... And, failure to honor the bet, (mods) is ban worthy till 2015....are you in, big man?
Who cares whether Moore was pushed back or not. Sanchez fucked the play up, first by handing off to the wrong side, and then by not securing the ball whilst running. Two ROOKIE mistakes, in year 4.
Maybe you should a tually watch the play asshole. He didnt hand off to the wrong side. Jeez. The rb was supposed to follow the fb. Instead he ran out to the flat. Ultimately, Sanchez needed to hold on to the ball. But stop looking for reasons that dont exist... The FB went up left, sanchez had the ball up left. Greene (who couldnt catch a cold nude sunbathing in the arctic) ran to the flat, instead of running up into the hole behinfpd hilliard and Mangold.
Interesting. I read the link u posted. I will change my stance on this play, but Mark has to hold onto that ball.
