We did improve the rest of the team regardless because we now have 16 million a year to spend that we wouldn't have had before.
The reason Cordarrelle Patterson is not a top 10 pick with all his assets is that everybody who looks at him closely sees a very raw talent who makes frequent mistakes on the field. Now, you'd like to assume that if you had him you could work out all the kinks and turn him into a fundamentally sound player in a couple of seasons but nobody knows if that is realistic or not. He has one of the higher boom/bust factors going in this draft.
5 I want OLB Jordan QB Smith/Manuel/Wilson TE Ertz WR Austin DL Star 5 I don't want G Warmack G Cooper Cb Milner Cb Rhodes OLB Jones
I disagree. Yes, we have 16 million (none of which is guaranteed, btw). If you want to replace Revis with a somewhat competent CB, we're gonna be paying at least 3-4M for that. So now we're down to 12 million. With our track record, that'll get us a player like Santonio Holmes or Bart Scott and maybe a depth player. I'll take Revis>Santonio Holmes and a semi-competent CB anyday.
At 9: 1. Dion Jordan 2. Chance Warmack 3. Jarvis Jones At 13. 1. Chance Warmack 2. Jarvis Jones 3. Tavon Austin 4. Tyler Eifert 5. Johnathan Cooper
If Tannenshit was still running the show I would agree..until he totally blows it I will give Idzik the benefit of the doubt to get a good player. And if he is on the team it is guaranteed and if he is not then he wasn't worth it to begin with..either way he won't be getting it from the Jets.
I want: Jordan Jones Cooper Warmack any of the top Olinemen that probably won't fall to us I don't want: Smith (or any QB) Austin Te'o Unsure on: Mingo, Ansah, Vaccaro, Patterson
The knock on Patterson is that he rarely catches the long pass. I believe I read he dropped 31 of 40 passes over 25 yards.
The guarantee is meaningless. You either have Revis and a 16 Mil a year cap hit or you have 16 Mil to spend on multiple players. What track record does Idzik have for giving big contracts to declining players? He's already established that he is the anti Tannanbaum. He could have over paid for any number of UFA's this year, but didn't.
5 i want OLD dion jordan DT star lotuleli QB geno smith (or manuel in the 2nd) OG jonathan cooper WR tavon austin 5 i do not want OLB jarvis jones WR cordarelle patterson DT shariff floyd CB dee milliner (no one can replace my revis at that pick) RB eddie lacy also, when the hell can i change my name? its getting depressing
How can I misquote you when the quote is automatic? I responded to a post and I am not going to go back and reread every one of your posts to understand what you tried to say. If you can't make yourself clear in each post, that's not my problem.
If you use the above logic then we will never be better given our "track record"...this is a different GM, different regime and we are going by their plan.
I'm beginning to be misquoted. I was 100% for the Revis trade, and despite the return agree it was necessary that the deal happened. I just don't feel that spending that pick on Milliner is the best way to go about things.
Want 1. Any of the top 3 OT 2. Dion Jordan 3. Jarvis Jones 4. Tavon Austin 5. Kenny Vaccaro Don't want 1. Barkley (don't want him in the 2nd round either). 2. Geno Smith 3. Mingo 4. Patterson 5. Millner =========== What I want most is using #9 or #13 to trade down & pick up multiple picks.
not necessarily in the first round i want: star gillislie ( i just think he is going to be dynamic) jordan (won't happen) austin nassib (probably won't happen) don't want warmack @ 9 cooper @ 9 millner ( just don't feel cb is a big need) patterson ( i think we drafted the same guy last year) honey badger ( would rather not deal with the buzz that will come with him)
Want: 1. Another teams draft picks in a trade down. 2. Dion Jordan 3. Jonathan Cooper 4. Chance Warmack Overall what I would like is: In round 1: 1. Starting Guard 2. Starting LB on a trade back or Austin if we have another QB than Sanchez to throw him the ball. Rounds 2-5 1. Starting Safety 2. QB (Nassib, Manuel. Scott or Dysert) 3. Starting TE or another OLB Round 5-7 1. RB 2. OL depth 3. LB depth We should be able to come out of this draft with 4 quality starters in a new guard, safety, TE and LB. Possibly a new QB or RB as well. Plus a bit of depth. Don't Want: 1. Travon Austin - If we had a QB then I would be for him. But he is not tall enough or have arms long enough to catch Sanchez's passes. Not to mention at 170 LBS Sanchez will get him killed reaching for his errant passes. 2. Milner I like Hayden better but I don't want a 1st Round CB taken this year as he will be compared and linked to Revis. 3. Vaccarro While I like Vaccarro the draft is deep in safety I would much rather use a 2nd or 3rd rounder to grab a starting safety. I don't think he is a good use of a pick. 4. Patterson We already have our own version of Patterson on the team in Hill. Patterson is a one year wonder with lots of flaws and needs development time. He could easily be a bust. Hill showed plenty of flashes last year but took a lot of criticism. He was an extremely raw receiver and one should not expect much of him until his 2nd or 3rdseason. 5. Geno Smith A 2nd round talent that has bust written all over him. I like Allen and Woods a lot better than Patterson. 6. LB in the 1st round Lots of depth in LBs this year. None of the LBs in the 1st on jump off the page. Although if we trade back in the 1st round Ogletree,Carradine or Jones would be a great pickup in the late teens or 20's.
PLAYERS I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE AT 9 OR 13 Dion Jordan Ezekial Ansah Luke Joeckel Eric Fisher PLAYERS I WOULD LIKE AT 9 OR 13 Chance Warmack Jonathan Cooper Star Lotulelei Sharrif Floyd Lane Johnson No one else is a guy who I think is a combination good value at a need spot. That's why I'm so in favor of trading down. I see little difference between Mingo/Jones and Carradine/Werner, for example, and I'd kill to trade down. I don't need Jimmy Johnson draft chart value to do it either. There's a group of about 15 guys I would be okay with after the LOVE/LIKE groups.
