5 I want: J. Jones, OLB D. Jordan, OLB C. Warmack, OG C. Cooper, OG K. Vaccaro, FS All solid players that will contribute from day one and with pro bowler potential. 5 I don't want: G. Smith, QB M. Barkley, QB T. Austin, WR B. Mingo, OLB C. Patterson, WR 2 QBs I'm not high on, a fragile WR that won't stay healthy in the NFL,a WR without a brain and a project OLB. What about you guys?
Yeah, I think Kenrick Ellis and Garay can rotate at the nose and hold their own. Especially with Wilkerson and Coples around them. As far as Star goes I've read different reports... I've seen some cut-outs of his games and I don't like him that much. I know I'm in the minority here but hey, shit happens!
I understand not believing in Austin because he's undersized, but he didn't miss a game in 4 years in college while getting significant time at WR, RB and returning kicks. There have been plenty of tough, little guys in the NFL and I just don't see the "fragile" thing. In any case, 5 I Want Jarvis Jones Dion Jordan Chance Warmack Ziggy Ansah Geno Smith (Also wouldn't mind Austin at 13) 5 I Don't Want Barkevious Mingo (#1 with a bullet) Matt Barkley Xavier Rhodes Cordarrelle Patterson Star Lotulelei
5 I want: CAUTION: I have us trading both picks into the 20s to pick up second rounders, so these are people I'd like to see us take in the 20s, not at the 9 and 13. Mingo Patterson Cooper Warmack Austin 5 I don't want: Jarvis Jones Star Milliner Geno Smith Vaccaro Too much OL and safety depth to take one high imo. I'm scared by Jarvis' injury, and I don't think Star would fit here as well as many think. He's more of a 3-4 DE/NT hybrid, and sticking him strictly on the NT with Coples and Wilk on the outside would be a waste of his talent. EDIT: Didn't clarify, but I would NOT want Warmack/Cooper at the 9 or 13. I only want them when/if we trade down.
What makes you label him "fragile". Just because he's small? Guy will barely get touched in the open field.
Guy will barely get touched in the open field at the collegiate level... in the NFL he'll get hit. PS Forgot to include Patterson in my "Don't want" list... I think he'll be a huge bust!
5 I want: (thinking trade back with at least one if not both 1st's) Jones Cooper Werner Hopkins Fluker 5 I don't: G. Smith Austin Patterson Ansah Te'o
Want 1.Austin 2. Star 3.Jordan 4.Cooper 5.Mingo Don't want 1.Milliner 2.Jones 3.Floyd 4.Rhodes 5.Barkely
Why not Milliner? Wouldn't he be the logical Revis replacement among all the corners in this year's crop?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 I want: J. Jones, OLB D. Jordan, OLB C. Warmack, OG D Hopkins, WR K. Vaccaro, FS 5 I don't want: T. Austin, WR G. Smith, QB M. Barkley, QB B. Mingo, OLB Patterson, WR I really, really want Jones and no part of Austin. Now watch the Jets pick Austin over Jones.
Regardless, I want to trade down, and he won't be there in the late teens/early 20s. If we stayed put, I would not want Milliner. I'd like to think we traded Revis in order to improve the rest of our team, whether that be the offense or front-7. I would hate to see Revis go only to take another undoubtedly less-talented CB in his place.
Apparantly those that wanted Nassib in the second need to bump him up to this thread. Radio this morning said he may go to Bills at #8.
I did this last year and we came away with two players on my don't want list in the first two rounds so I think I will pass on it this year. I did come around on Coples after looking at things closely after the pick.
Yes, but you trade Revis with the intent to get better. Does downgrading Revis make us a better team, even long-term? I don't think so. Does replacing Revis with a stud pass-rusher (who obviously wouldn't be as good as his position as Revis is at his, but is still more valuable because of position) make us a better team? Yes. In addition, if Milliner is there at nine, there's a good chance we'll be able to get some value for trading down.
Umm..nope. He ran a 4.34 40 plus he's elusive as hell. He'll get hit but he's not going to take serious punishment. And he's never been proven fragile.
Of course it makes us a better team. The Jets team Revis was on was capped because we had a ridiculous amount of money tied up in the CB's. It was capped for other reasons also but the spending on the back end of the defense was out of control. Look at the teams that have spent like that recently. They have disappointment written all over their results. Eagles, Jets, Cowboys, that's not the group you want to be in these days. All things being equal and no cap involved do you do everything you can to hold onto Revis? Of course you do. But there's a cap involved.
