I vote moving you to Tampa. I'll even pay for a ticket. But only coach, you don't deserve flying 1st class.

Disagree with you wholeheartedly on one point: I love the fact that there 3 days of the draft now. The first day just being the first round is genius, because it simply makes the 2nd round more fun to watch...you get a nice 24 hour break and are fresh for that second round, when picks are made more quickly so you're not as burned out for the 3rd round. I dunno bout you, but the old way had me dozing off in the late 30s...

I'm new to board, have waited a week for my profile to be approved and have only been able to read because of it. I used to post on CBS but they closed their message board so I had to find a new home.

Anyways, I don't see how anyone can criticize Idzik for this move. His hands were tied, there was no leverage on his end. The Jets didn't want Revis at 16 million and they had no franchise tag available. It was either trade Revis to the top suitor or let him walk and get a 3rd round pick as compensation. The Jets did what they had to and are now positioned very well in this draft and have another 3rd round pick in what is supposed to be a fantastic draft next year. I'm hoping the Jets trade back from 9 to around 18 and pick another 2nd round pick to really stock pile the picks. At 13 and 18, maybe they'd get lucky and be able to grab Tavon Austin and then Vaccaro. Both could easily be gone but you never know. 2nd round they could look at Ertz and a pass rusher.

Revis was never loyal to the Jets, he was always about his next payday. So I do not understand why fans are so loyal to him, and why they are so critical of the Jets organization for not being too loyal to Revis.

It's like you wanted Revis to break your heart and leave in FA next year with no compensation.

i just really enjoyed turning on the tv bright and early on a saturday morning and watching it through the day. it was like college football on new years... it was just on from sun up to sun down.

after a certain point i would be able to walk away and do something and come back and see what i had missed and watch for awhile.

it really took the fire out of the saturday. even if they did it friday for round 1 and then the rest on saturday i would be ok with it.

maybe im just nostalgic about it. but i can also see your pov

At the end of the day, as sad as it is, Revis isn't worth 15-16 million. It's what it ultimately boils down to. A CB is just not worth QB money. If Revis played QB for us as good as he did CB, he'd still be here lol.

Anyways, Revis will definitely be missed. Best CB I've ever seen..

I think because management felt Sanchez deserves an extension, Tebow was worth trading for, Holmes was worth big money yet Revis didn't seem valuable at all

I read that it's the same exact contract every year. And Revis can turn around next year and hold out for guaranteed money if he proves himself healthy and back to Revis quality.

The deal looks good for TB, but there's always that fear of holdout with Revis. Granted they can just tell him to go fuck himself and cut him but then they lost out on the draft picks.

That's cool, but they are mostly what fourth and fifth rounders? Better than nothing, can maybe package some to move up but still think a mid to late first would have been better to move up and get a future.

Like I said, I think Idzik either thinks he has his guy already or can draft him this year. I'm not so sure.

You're right, the Jets can't scout college talent. They drafted Revis and he sucked. Idiots. The Jets are in total rebuild mode. Revis' talent would have been wasted on a rebuilding year for the Jets. Then there was a good chance that he would have become a free agent. The Jets made the right move. Revis was damaged goods in terms of the price he demanded to stay.

But those are entirely different situations, and decisions made by the old management. Idzik has to make the best moves going forward, he can't look at past failures and have it infuence current decisions.

You haters love to compare apples and oranges and think you made logical arguments.

You overpay, the last piece of the puzzle. If you arent close, wrecking the cap is nonsensical.

Then it becomes a question, is what is the return on premium...

exactly who am I hating on

we're all one fan base, just because we dont like some of the decisions doesn't mean we're haters we just want the team succeed

every Jets fan on here wants us to win a Super Bowl, thats what makes us passionate, so if me being passionate makes me a hater then hey fuck it

if Freeman sucks they can just let him walk and draft their next QB or Schiano can call up his buddy Belichick and trade for Ryan Mallett

Revis has nothing to do with Freeman

    1. Revis was a dick when we drafted him and he held out
    2. Revis was a dick when held out with 2 yrs on his deal for more money
    3. Revis was a dick because he wants ~40% more than the next best cb in the league to resign.
    4. Good riddance, glad we did not sign him. Do you realize that we can sign 3-5 high quality NFL caliber players for 16M per year? Revis is great but does he really make that much of a difference?

Compare Revis to Cromartie who was quoted by Manish to be very disappointed to lose Revis' talent. Think about the contrast of mindsets for a minute here. Crow is pissed that we are losing talent, Revis couldn't give a shit if we can't afford another player as a result of paying his exorbitant agreement. Who is more concerned about the welfare of the team and their ability to win? Kiss my ass Revis and don't let the door hit you in the ass. Good riddance.

very interesting situation for them and one you dont ever see in this day and age... will be interesting to see how it plays out.

im really surprised they gave him 16 mill. i figured they had given him 8 to 10 and back loaded the shit out of hte contract in years they were never going to pay him.

but i guess it works for both sides... and really has the opportunity to completely fucking explode for both sides too.

i cant blame idzik for not paying him 16 million thats just too damn much. 8 to 10 sure, 16 no way.

We had a good D without Revis, and an absolutely dreadful offense. It makes total sense to move him and invest in the offense. Also, $16m per year for a CB is insane. We already have a #1 CB in Cro as well.
