    Another important thing:

Patriots vs Jets with Revis before Gronk/Hernandez: 6 games 156 pts = 26 a game.

    Patriots vs Jets with Revis (no 2012) and Gronk/Hernandez: 5 games 157 pts = 31.4 a game.

If you go just 2009 vs 2010-2011 it gets worse: 2009/20 pts a game. 2010-2011/31.4 pts a game.

Belichik didn't like what he saw in 2009 and he reconfigured the Patriots offense to not depend on outside receivers. After that point they were better against the Jets than they'd been even against Mangini.

Some might think we got hosed with the 13th overall but its not like there was ever one other serious contender for him...none.

You needed a team with an incredible amount of cap room to make an error (not saying this is one) and a team that sucked against the pass the past couple years = BUCS. Period.

Its been said many times. Great teams can take a great corner and make him useless by flooding the other 2/3rds of the fiels (see the pats and their tight ends) The Pats so fully understood you can take Revis out of the game, they have yet to even replace any of their wide outs. They dominated us by using slot receivers and tight ends.

Personally, Im so sick and tired of his contract bullshit..move on. I also just read none of his money is guaranteed? Lol...good luck with that Tampa.

You get that position + ACL injury+ last year of his contract= miracle you got a first round...run with it.

When Revis is shutting down Julio Jones and Colston with ease, then people will realize what the deal is. The Jets GOT PLAYED AS USUAL.

    Clowns squad 2013!

Just where the hell were you, when Jets started finally becoming respective, back in the late 90's? (Speaks volumes of who you are - you are not a Jet fan; you are a Revis fan. Go pack your stuff up, and move in to Tampa.)

When Parcells took over then left, they had 4 picks in 1st round. Jets picked John Abraham, Shaun Ellis, Chad Pennington and Anthony "Stone-Hands" Becht. Out of the four, only one failed (and he was a reach at #30, hardly a crime.)

And when Jets had both Abraham and Ellis at both DE position, they always had the ability to pressure the QB - the end result was, while Jets back four was never stellar, they performed well enough to be a factor.

On top of that, Jets run D was decent, and the pass rush was pretty good. (Thanks to the players you claim that have less of an effect.)

Enough history lesson for you, Revis fanboy?

Some name for someone devoid of belief. When Revis wasn't there to shut down the opposing #1 receivers last year, how did Jets defense fare? (You are missing who makes these puppets effective.)

This is some of the dumbest shit I've ever read on this forum...and that's saying a lot on TGG.

Pro tip: If the only people agreeing with you wholeheartedly are the 16-year-old know-nothing fuckwits...you're probably on the wrong track.

You know, with all due respect and all.

If he shows up in week 1 and balls, then you will have 5-6 teams easily you can trade him to during the season. There was absolutely no necessity in making this deal at all. The Jets are in complete rebuild mode with no D and scrubs on offense. Idzik should have demonstrated ZERO urgency to ensure getting top compensation for arguably the best defender in the game who happens to be in his prime.

This was Idzik's chance to build a foundation for the team and truly start a rebuilding program. And he completely blew it.

How do you pay a Franchise Quarterback and a Legit Edge Pass rusher and still pay Revis 16M per year and still field a solid team? When in all likely hood half of the salary cap is gone with those three players.

Open your eyes 16m is way too much for any Corner!

I think the reason most of us feel like we got stiffed is that at 1 point, it seemed as if the Bucs were willing to give us their 1st & 2nd rounders next year. Cant find where I read that but it must be about 200 posts ago on Rotoworld under Darrelle Revis.

All the condition on the pick is, if he's on the Tampa Bay Roster, after next season is finished, the Jets get a third rounder. That obviously is going to happen so the deal is a first rounder this year and a 3rd rounder next years. That's not awful for a guy whose coming off a major injury.

Yes, so instead of 1 and 2 next year it's 1 this year and 3 next year. Like that better, anyway.

All I know is Revis is going to dominate Week 1. Bank on it. That is going to be a depressing game.

How did the Vikes get more for Harvin... He was traded for the 25th pick?

TB essentially gave up the biggest contract in NFL history to a defensive player... One who is a CB coming off an ACL tear and also has a history of hamstring issues. Oh yeah, they also gave up a 1st and a 3rd round pick.

Just because the 3rd is not this year, everyone is freaking out.

You are the one who should put on the clown nose.

It's probably best not to tempt fate.

Not thanking the fans is one thing, but I doubt the Jets coaches had much to do with his success.

Bart Scott said the other day that Revis never takes a play off, not even in practice. He also said Cromartie had much more athletic ability.

Cro, it's time to step it up.

Given the Jets penchant for drafting stiffs, is it more likely the #13 overall pick becomes Vernon Gholston or Joe Namath?

Woody will have his pride to hold onto, knowing he didn't cave to Revis' contract demands.

Meanwhile, #24 will walk into the HOF wearing pewter and orange.

People act as if every 1st rd pick is the same... #13 has WAY more value than #25 guys! Think about how much teams have to spend to trade up!

We got hosed. It's a conditional 4th rounder, not a 3rd. If you think trading our franchise player, who is arguably the best defender in the NFL, for a rookie guard, is a master stroke then Idzik is your man. This trade was a joke. We got fleeced. Idzik should have just packed up his ball and went home and traded Revis mid-season.
