What will we do with our 2 first round picks assuming we get #13?

Try to trade one back (probably the 9) to the Vikings for their two 1st rounders. With the 13th, 23rd, and 25th, Idzik can fill some holes.

I would love Moore and Werner at 23 and 25 and either a guard or Tavon Austin at 13.

Yes! One of the Guards at 13 and try to stockpile more picks by trading the 9. I would love to see some young athletic guys fighting for spots in TC, this is gonna be fun!

I'd be very happy if we could trade down from the 9. If one of the 3 offensive tackles are still on the board at 9, we could have a few teams looking to leapfrog each other. That'll drive up the cost for getting the # 9.

It's just sad to see revis go, and it's gonna be even worse watching him blanket Holmes in week 1.

If (and that's a bit if) we get the 25 we may be able to trade that to someone trying to grab a QB at the bottom of the 1st. C'mon Trader John make happen!

Tavon and a pass rusher. Don't trade down, you can get late first round talent in the second round this year, but all the elite players will be gone by 16-18.

Ideal: Jordan at 9 and Austin at 13

More Likely: J. Jones at 9 and Austin at 13

My personal nightmare: Warmack at 9 and Barkley at 13

Pickup Warmack with the 9 (unless Dion Jordan is available), trade the 13th to the Falcons for their first rounder and 2nd. Love to grab one of the WRs at the end of the first round and have 2 second rounders. Get that TE we need as well as a linebacker or BPA.

i'd be extremely happy if we got jonathan cooper and tavon austin at 9 and 13. then in the 2nd round we get ej manuel. the reason i take cooper over warmack is cooper is more athletic so when manuel scrambles and runs cooper can block for him

I'd be cool with one of Warmack/Cooper and Jones/Ansah/Mingo. This assumes Jordan is gone. No to Geno Smith. I'm not at Austin fan either.

If the Jets now have 8 picks in this year's draft with the addition of the 13 then they really would like to trade back in the 1st, maybe both picks.

As to what they need, OLB/DE, OT/OG, S, TE, QB, WR. Taking a QB in the late 1st would not be a terrible thing if the guy they liked was there. Taking an OG in the 20's would not be a bad thing if the guy they liked was there.

There's a lot of talent in this draft in the positions the Jets need. Creating additional picks via trading down and then taking a bunch of shots wouldn't be a bad thing.

I hope we accumulate more picks in 2014 somehow; it's another huge offseason for Idzik. In all probability, Holmes is gone, Sanchez is gone. Harris and Cromartie have huge savings if cut. Idzik will figure something out with those two. Then we will all the bad contracts stymied or out of the picture.

Complete roster turnover and tons of cap room. With more money we can solidify some of the stuff that didn't work out from this offseason and then more '14 draft ammo = better chance at drafting our QBotF.

Of course, getting rid of all these guys is going to put a lot of pressure on the draft and the young guys already in place to step up.

    Agreed.

Say we trade for Minnesota's two first rounders with our 9 so they can take Austin, and then trade down our 13 for someone looking to pick up Star or maybe even a Geno Smith, we could be looking at something like:

    Late Teen/Early 20s pick: Mingo
    23: Cooper
25: Patterson (his stock is falling)
    37: Ertz
Second Round from Star Trade: Bernard
    3rd: DJ Swearinger/Phillip Thomas
    4th: Brennan Williams
    5th: Matt Scott
    6th: Lonnie Pryor
    7th: Brad Wing

I'd be ****ing elated with a draft like this. Get our pass-rusher, and then totally revamp the offense at almost every position in need both long-term and short-term (minus Franchise QB, of course).

I'd really like to see at least one trade down with these firsts.

Also, (according to Rotoworld) it sounds like the compensation for the trade (aside from the #13) will be in 2014 picks. Three or four compensation picks are likely in 2014 as well, so I'd really like to see more picks this year acquired in a possible trade down.

Cooper will never make it to 23. He's just too good of a player, I dont care about his position. Mingo probably goes earlier than that also.

Trading down is a lot harder than it is made out to be.

That's your opinion. I think anyone who takes an offensive guard with a top 10 pick should get their head examined.
