i knew that name sounded familiar or that i had heard it before! i guess i heard or read his dad's name back when...obviously succeeded by that idiot joe walton
Good stuff. I don't have a lot of data in my hands to talk highly of Idzik but he made a good start imo. He gives me confidence and I can't say why exactly. Let's just hope I am right.
well said, there will be many on here who will cream their pants about an article like that. your approach of he hasnt proven anything but i feel like he has started well and have confidence is the exact approach i wish everyone would take. thats really the only approach you can take, the overly negative posters really have nothing to be negative about and the sunshiners really have nothing to cream their pants over at this point.
I bet there was sunshine stories like this when Tannenbum was appointed aswell. But I've said it before and I say it again - regardless of whatever player we'll have on the team, I'm pretty confident that Idzik might be the best recruitment we've done for decades.
Have U ever thought that he may have been the best of the worst that was available this off season?
It is just another fluff story. Plain & simple if he was such a catch why was he available this off season?
I hope he does a good job in building this team to a CONSISTENT championship contender, I like what he's doing so far. He's going after players that may have been talented but stuck behind better players. I can't wait to see how he does in the draft.
Sounds good and I have no complaints so far. However like I said after he was hired, I won't be able to fully judge Idzik on all of his moves (trades, draft, free agency) until after the end of next season at the earliest. His first test is the Revis situation and I like the way he's keeping it quiet. His next test is the draft and I'll give him an initial grade on that by the end of next weekend.
We have an owner who is willing to spend money and gets very unhappy about losing. We have a GM who is smart, methodical and looks for long-term success in his approach. We have a coach who is a good motivator and a great defensive mind. I'm pretty happy with where we are at the moment. If Idzik and Rex can mesh on the long-term planning vs short-term results matrix we're all going to be very happy with the results.
i loved the part about putting the team above everything, including his job. shows how much he cares i think us having woody johnson who now cares a lot and idzik is crucial. although i don't want to judge idzik yet, if he ends up being a great GM (which i believe he will be), we will be set for years to come. have a great front office is the most important thing, some people just don't think of it that way
Oh for Pete's sake, that insanely dumb. You could ask that question about any previous GM, or HC for that matter that went on to greatness. All of them were available when hired.
