This guy could be had in the 6th or as an undrafted free agent but boy is he something. Ideal size for a Rex OLB 6'5 260 and he just has violent hands. Notice one of our scouts running the workouts Kid could be the next Paul Kruger, best thing is he's a low key prospect but the kind of guy we need to hit on in the late rounds and undrafted free agents
He has some impressive measurables from the Pro Day....37" vertical, 34 reps, 4.78 40 @ 260lbs, and 1.66 10-yd split. Certainly worth a late round flyer.
He didnt even lineup from a DE or OLB position in the whole tape, so Im assuming he has never played it. Thats a huge transition from a 4-3 DT to a 3-4 OLB. Im not sure how someone can grade his ability to beat a tackle (burst off the line, bend, pass rush moves and counter moves) based on this. Maybe Id take a shot in the 7th, but thats about it. He didnt seem relentless and like he played a lot faster on tape than in his workout.
That's what I realized too. Every play he was lined up in the middle. I've always been a big believer in taking problematic guys who have the talent to be 1st or 2nd round picks, but drop because of off the field problems in the later rounds instead of choosing at random and hoping for the best. (Which is what it seemed that Tannebaum did). Give me this guy as an UDFA and I'm happy. Maybe a 7th since it doesn't seem like there's many of those problematic picks this year.
Most 3-4 OLBs are moving positions. It's a bigger transition from DT to DE, but usually, most of it is projection-based anyway, so why not take a shot on him late?
