This is a now scared kid, reports are that he's the one who ran over his brother while trying to get away after being shot. He's not a hardcore Taliban or AQ. But he WILL at minimum spend the rest of his life in prison. But more importantly, since he's just a kid, and evidently very scared one, if there were any overseas connections he'll spill everything. If there is a foreign connection beyond just inspiration he could be a wealth of information, especially regarding possible cells or contacts in the US. so yeah, I'm glad he's alive. Let him spend the next couple years wondering if he'll get the death penalty, and if he gets life lock him in a cold dark hole. But remember this, He's due his rights, he is after all a US citizen...but one that will never have another day of freedom in his life.

This kid really needs to tell all. If not, there are things in his future that would make most of us puke. Any contacts, help,anything at all. The kid needs to tell it. He will spend the rest of his natural life in federal prison as it is and with a target on his back, most of those decades will be in solitary/protective custody. His life is over. He might have been better off dead.
problem is,its a kid. i doubt he knows anything past his brother and probably had no contact with anyone past his brother. he will pin it all on is brother and his beliefs and rot in prison for the rest of his life. i doubt they get anything really informative from him
We are of course assuming he wasn't fatally wounded... he might be alive now but that doesn't mean he will be tomorrow.
With the tech available, theres no doubt that all contacts with these suspects have been combed thoroughly. If they could track down most of his family worldwide within 72 hrs, the should be no doubt if there were helpers, their id's are already known.
this could be the begining of these type of low budget smaller scale operations by sleepers planted throughout the country. it isn't far fetched to think we could be israel with backpacked operatives blowing shit up randomly
Well, if anybody else was involved that sucks. It's better for us if this was a Columbine type event with a couple of anti-socials taking their anger out on innocent victims. Random evil we can deal with. If this was something bigger than that, well that's when things get really nasty. That's when we get something else we have to watch out for or a rerun of something bad that we already knew about.

Don't think for a second that the tech isn't already deployed and in use.
He may not know names, but I'd bet he knows meeting places and houses they went to for "supplies", and whether they were truly lone wolves or connected elsewhere. Brothers tend to tell each other alot, especially when coaxing them along a path.
