It's been reported that the Vikings are looking to move up. They have the #23 and #25 on Thursday. What else would it take for them to move up to #9 and is that too far for the Jets to drop if they don't acquire the #13 from Tampa for Revis? However, this is all speculation and something to discuss as the report says they aren't willing to give up both #1's let alone the rest of the cost. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/18/vikings-interested-in-moving-up-in-first-round/
Using the trade value chart, the #9 is worth 1350 pts, and the #23 and #25 are worth 760 and 720, so it would be fairly even if they gave us both first rounders. If they didn't give both first rounders, it would take the #23, plus pretty much the rest of their draft to equal the #25, and even then it would be short. So pretty much, it's either both 1st rounders, or a 1st and a 1st next year http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php
I would do it in a heart beat if we aquired the #13 from TB. I bet the Viks are looking at Austin to replace Harvin. Imagine the #13, #23, #25, #39, #72! that would be the way to approch this draft as its is deeper than it is top heavy.
The Jets can potentially get a bunch of picks if they can: 1) Trade Revis for a 1,3,5 and a conditional pick next year. 2) Trade 9 or 13 back into the 20's and pick up either the two Minnesota picks or get an extra 2 and 4. Potentially they could be looking at 2 picks in the first 5 five rounds and ideally a conditional pick next year.
The Vikings have a lot of cap space in 2014 and moving forward. They have a very low spend on the defensive side of the ball in 2014 and moving forward with just $26M allocated. I wonder if they're a wildcard to get Revis? 23 + 52 + conditional picks in 2014? They'd still have the 25 and 8 other picks this year.
I always viewed them as a potential trade partner for Revis. Especially with Calvin Johnson, Stafford, Rodgers and Cutler in the division. Unfortunately their GM seems to love the draft and seems more inclined to keep his picks. At some point another team has to become interested.
Trades arent this simple people. And the Vikes are looking to move up but without giving up both picks. I doubt they'd give up 23 and 25 together.
Most likely not, but if the are willing to part with a few picks this year to go from 23 to 9 you have to listen. Anything extra in rounds two or three will be big this year and go along way towards addressing many of the holes we have.
It would be great to trade Revis and trade back from 9. Having #s 13, 23, and 25 would be really exciting to watch. Its unlikely though.
so that makes Minnesota and ATL as teams looking to trade up. how about this scenario. - Revis is traded to TB for a 2013 1, 2 and 2014 2. - we trade our 9 overall pick to Minnesota for their 23rd overall, 2nd and a 2014 2. - we then trade back again with ATL, grabbing the 30th overall pick and also picking up a 2 and 4. we would be set up quite nicely. - 2 first round picks (13 & 30) - 4 second round picks - 1 third - 2 fourths and so on. we would also have 3 second round picks in 2014. of course I'm living in a fantasy world and this will never happen.
unlikely but not impossible. imagine this, Minn trades up for Tavon Austin and they also end up being a surprise suitor and land Revis. I think at this point they would most definitely give up both firsts, their second and even more. trading for 23 to 9 should net a first and a second. trading Revis to Minn should net the other 1, a 3 and 2014 picks.
Never say never buddy. Hopefully Idzik has the same mentality as me and you and is looking to acquire as many picks as possible. Having all those picks in the 1st and especially the 4 in the second would be great. This draft is loaded in those middle rounds. Can't forget the 3 seconds next year either.
Yup, the possibilities are endless. Like I said in my last post, hopefully Idzik has the same mentality as us. If not hopefully he is at least reading this.
It is almost impossible to move up anymore..rookies cost nothing, not even 1st rounders and no GM is eager to get rid of them..especially in a draft where their are so few good players at the top.
It will be impossible to move up for Clowney and very unlikely for Bridgewater if he proves to be a great franchise QB possibility. We're talking pure gold for the teams that hold those picks naturally and they'll also be teams with bad records who need a QB and might take the best pass rushing prospect of the last decade over that QB anyway.
Could sell me on having 13, 23 & 25 in the first round plus our 2nd rounder. Could fill a lot of holes.
I really like hearing about 2 teams that want to trade up. It might be a situation where you get a bidding war for our #1. All I know is for our team needs we would be far better off with 2 late 1st rounders than an early 1st.
They would not necessarily have to...if we get the 13th pick. Trade the 13th pick for the 23rd pick and a 3rd and future 2nd round pick in 2014....... Take best available OLB at 9 and take someone like Hopkins at 23.
I think the Vikes want Tavon Austin........and Austin if he's a top 15 pick lock, the 9th or 13th pick would be enough for MIN to get him. The Jets liking Austin AND La Canfora saying the Jets may make a top 10 promise to Austin might be a smokescreen to get someone like MIN to have to trade up that high which is what Idzik could want.
