Idzik's gag order isn't going to bind Revis agents. I don't think things get quieter in August if Revis is still here. I think the Jets will ignore the noise as much as they can but the noise is definitely going to be there. The closer Revis gets to having to play 2013 without an extension or new contract the louder things will get.
This article is the desperation move of the Bucs. Note the major inconsistency: Bucs are saying that Revis is questionable bc of the injury, but then saying Jets must trade now. Really? The longer Idzik holds off, the more evidence there is that injury is a non-factor, taking away Bucs' only bitching point.
I am sure this has been brought up but if a trade goes down, The Buccaneers are AT the Jets this year.
if trade does go down, it's not like the bucs need a shutdown corner if el taco loco is playing qb. they could use members of the cheer squad back there.fftopic:
the media is reaching like a muthafucker right now, every article is all bullshit, not even speculation just straight bullshit
Is it just me or has Tampa Bay been perpetually 'impatient' for two weeks now...? Yet, they're not backing out. Sounds like someone in the media is trying to get us to bite.
Not buying it,Tampa. You failed to address your biggest need in the offseason & now you've got no other option than Revis.
Of course of course... just saying that it's not like we're in September and rosters are pretty much decided.
All this talk about money...:clay Matthews gets 5 years $65 mil ($13 mil a year) and is a huge every down impact with sack, pressure, turnovers etc. You cant see that and even think Revis is worth that much or more. Great CB yes but at $11m max per season if you are desperate for a top flight CB.
Isnt it counter productive if we trade our CB only to turn around and have to spend a first RD pick on the same position?
It would be yes, assuming we could keep our CB anyway and assuming we needed him. We have Cromartie and Wilson to whom we should add a decent late round prospect. Give the Jets last year a decent pass rush and the pass defense would have been even better than it was. That's what the Jets should be looking to put together this year.
^ don't forget trufant played pretty well in the slot after revis went down too. with or without revis cb is not a need
Nobody on Revis level. Milliner won't be there at #13 & any other rookie will be just that. A rookie. Not exactly an upgrade at an area of need.
There are a bunch of good safeties in the draft this year. If Vaccaro falls right then he's a good take but I think the Jets might have bigger fish to fry on the 13 and he's definitely not worth the 9.
Throw Rhodes or Hayden or Banks against Steve Smith, M. Colston and Roddy White/Julio Jones 6 times this year....because unless the injured Eric Wright is the No.1 CB, the rookie they'd take high in their draft will have a big responsibility. Add that Schiano and possibly TB GM's jobs could be on the line and they should seriously consider that quick fix with Revis.
