I saw on PFT, that Atlanta is looking to trade up. we know this team likes to make splashes (see Julio Jones). depending on who they are targeting, would you trade down 21 picks with ATL for a handful of picks? say a 2nd, 3rd and a 5th? it's something to consider. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2123/falcons-defense
I saw this and to move up that high it would probably be this and next year's first, this year's second and another later pick... maybe this year's 4th.
Their whole draft would barely be worth going down 21 spots. After looking it up it definitely wouldn't be at least based on the old chart. The new chart would probably be worse for them as rookies now come cheap.
If we get the 13th pick I'm down to drive up a kings ransom for the 9th pick. Getting a first for next year, no matter what spot it is, is key to helping the rebuild.
I love how everyone thinks trading is so easy, just snap your fingers and it's done. Everything is speculation and the media spins stuff very well.
If we were to swap 1st with ATL and the only 1st we picked up was the one in the swap, so ATLs this year, I wouldn't be too happy. If we have the 13 in our back pocket and we do this, then I'd be more up for it.
I'll throw in a crazy scenario for fun. This is speculation season! Jets trade Revis for Bucs no.1(13th) no. 3 and no. 5 Jets trade no. 9 to Atlanta for no. 1 (21st), no. 2 and 2014 no.1 Jets have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds: no. 13 - Tavon Austin, WR no. 21- Whoever slides out of this group, because at least one will (Jarvis Jones, OLB, one of the guards Cooper, Warmack, Fluker / TE Tyler Eifert no.39 - Eddie Lacy, RB no. 60 (from ATL) - D.J. Swearinger, Safety no.72 - Dallas Thomas, Versatile Lineman no.73 (From TB) - Zac Dysert, QB.. nice haul of players to make this team competitive. Add in fodder with 2 1sts next year, one of which will be high (ours).
If we got their 1st this year and multiple picks in 2014, and if we receive 2014 picks from TB via Revis trade we seriously could be looking at getting Bridgewater with no need to tank.
