Honestly, you can't expect miracolous results from one draft and some veterans who have been snubbed in the first waves of FA. That said I think we can vastly improve from last year on O by making a couple of moves.

OL: Ferguson, COOPER (rd 1), Mangold, COLON (FA), Howard
It all starts from the OL. Why? Because with such a good line (both in run blocking and in pass pro) as the one above you can "free" other positions from blocking duties and have players that are more adept to actually being threats on the field, such as...

TE: ERTZ (rd 2), Cumberland, BLOCKING/PHYSICAL TE (FA/late rd)
Finally a true pass catching TE. I never liked Keller that much, he either made great plays or completely fucked up due to poor awereness.

WR: Holmes, Kerley, Hill, EDWARDS (FA), PATTON/WOODS (rd 3)
Can't wait for the Jets to bring back Edwards, which they will hopefully do. Tremendous catch radius which would really help Sanchez out in case he wins the job. He's the only WR that has had any chemstry with Mark.. we need him around, at least for camp.
As for Patton or Woods I think we really miss a dependable, physical possession WR with good after-the-catch abilities. Plus it would be smart to groom Holmes eventual successor since he'sa goner in 2014 (imo) and is recovering from a serious injury.

RB: IVORY (rd 4 trade), GOODSON (FA), Powell
    Jolly: McKnight
I would like a backfield like this. Sure, there's an injury risk... but the talent would be there. Also Powell can do a bit of everything and is excellent in pass pro so he'll have a role. Also wouldn't mind a jocker FB/TE that's good at catching passes.
As for McKnight he should focus on ST, but he is a threat for creative plays... so I think it's nice to have him around.

I'd love this scenario... Use the first 4 picks on offense and then get some guys on D that Rex can coach up (or BPAs). Sure, we wouldn't solve the QB issue but I think we'd make it a good situation for any of our scrubs to perform decently. Good protection, a potentially good running game, a reliable pass catcher at TE that isn't 6'2" and adequate WRs... If Sanchez can't do anything in this scenario we'll finally know he's shit. If Garrard ends up starting (which I think he will) he won't have to do it all by himself. Superbowl? No. But decent football team yes indeed.

PS Forgot to mention Ducasse can be brought in to be the 6th OL in obvious run blocking situations... he was good in doing that last year.

I personally never liked the idea of putting all my eggs in one basket. So I'd never use my first four picks on one side of the ball esp with all the holes on D.

Who is going to play OLB opp Barnes? Or if heaven forbid, Barnes goes down?

Who is going to play FS next Landry? Considering both Landry brothers have a long injury history, counting on Dawan an entire season may be reach.

Most important, who is going to rush the passer with no new bodies added?

Sorry, this draft would not make me a happy camper.

It would be nice if we focused a little more on the offense in this draft, but there seems to be more high end defensive talent then there is offensive talent in the first round.

I think what decisions are made depends a lot on whether or not we have Tampa's 1st round pick. I say we take a LB with the 9 (Jarvis Jones?) and then maybe work on offense with the 13. The smart choice would be to take a tackle, but I wouldn't be surprised if they rolled the dice and went with a playmaker like Tavon Austin.

Some analysts have Ertz going as early as the first round, so we'd be lucky if he's still on the board in the second. But I think that would be a helpful pick.

In the third round, i'd love for us to take Zac Dysert if he's still around. Underrated QB in my opinion.

Ok, there you go I fixed it.

Just 2 little tweaks but you almost hyad it right. No Ivory, we can get better bang for the buck via draft, and the 3rd round pick needs to be used on D. I say we go with the best pass rushing OLB we have on our boards.

I like the rest a lot though.

cooper at 9 is no way going to be bpa. i'd take warmack over him and if warmack isn't there that means a pass rusher(jones, ansah) or star or smith would be sitting there and all are rated higher than cooper. i understand the need to draft ol but not at the expense of significant value.

The thing is... on D I have faith in Rex and Thurman in making the most out of JAGs.

^ This. I don't get some of the Cooper over Warmack love here lately on TGG. Cooper has quick feet and can pull very nicely but is not as man-strong as Warmack who is the complete package both as a pass blocker and road grader. Maybe it's the predominantly zone blocking schemes in the WC offense that make people like Cooper. Nice player but not a #9 pick. Warmack looks like an all-pro in the making.

i think the game is getting to where the pocket is gonna move a lot more.
i would like to pick up cooper if we get that #13, after getting an impact player
    on either D or O. (mingo/ansah? austin?)

Tavon Austin only sucks a little bit less than Geno Smith.

A 170 pound guy, playing in the slot has a 50% survival rate.

We already had Danny Woodhead, and let him go.

You do not take. Guard in the top 10, unless you KNOW he is Alan Faneca.

If guard is your pick you trade past 20.

9 and 13 would net you Ansah,or Jordan, and Vaccaro. You wantnto help the offense? Keep putting them on the field.

Austin would play on the outside and he's arguably the most dynamic playmaker in the draft. He's small but that hasn't stopped Santana Moss from having a relatively good career.

The Jets need someone who can break a game open, Austin would fit that role quite nicely.

  13. Both Tayvon Austin & Corradelle Patterson must be under consideration. This team needs a play maker.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Get the most starter ready player and the most explosive player in the first round.

Just wondering, have you ever seen Tavon Austin play? Because the kid is an absolute stud, I dont care how much he weighs. He's 174 and has a decent amount of room to grow. With an NFL weight room, he could easily maintain a solid 180. He's one of the quickest player Ive seen on tape (Percy Harvin is the only other that comes to mind) and hardly ever takes a big hit. When a small object is moving that fast, its almost impossible to get a big hit on him.

You want your boy Sanchez to even have a shot at a come back? Or any young QB to succeed for that matter? You give him the best play maker to come out in a fews years and take some pressure off the QB.

You are pretty comical that you think THIS offense is completely fine and that the defense is where the resources need to be spent (again). In your hypothetical world, after about week 4 you would be begging to add some more pieces to the offense. You can sit there and defend Sanchez until death, saying that last year he had no help around him, yet you dont think much needs to me upgraded on offense? Man, I could only imagine what this team would look like if you managed it... smh

That was the NFL of years ago. Now the salaries are more suitable to BAP no matter what position. Warmack just might be as good as Faneca was. Ever see him play?
