I'm not sure how we not wanting to trade him makes Tampa Bay willing to give up more for him but it's an interesting idea. I'm going to try it the next time I trade my car in for a new one.

I know what you will give me for it if I want to trade it, how much more will you give me if I don't want to trade it?

If this were a leak by the Jets, which I doubt, the motive would probably be to convince the Bucs that the Jets were concentrating on trying to negotiate an extension with Revis, thus obviating the need to trade him.

I think the leak probably came from elsewhere though. One of the few negative effects of taking the low-key path that the Jets have adopted this last couple of months is that there is no way to effectively refute a rumor like this. The Jets are playing a simple game right now and anything they say would wander off the trail.

we live in a culture where major news networks simply refuse to cover stories with which they are not in political agreement. Why major news networks have a political agenda is another story. It does not surprise me to read day in and day out about anonymous sources from sportswriters. These stories could be coming out of thin air. And the anti-Jet bias is nauseating.

Florio who I consider a complete moron has another idea too and that is that there may be another team involved..everybody..EVERYBODY...knows the Jets have to trade him before the draft, re-sign him or probably lose him at the end of the season..they feel confident in doing what they are doing for some reason unknown to us.

I would think most of the leeks are coming from the Revis camp. They control his medical records, they want a new deal.

Would you rather he just walk away for nothing? The Jets are not going to pay some fucking CB 15 million a year and there is at least one other team that will so that's your choices, trade him or let him walk away and get nothing.

Nor will you hear Revis referring to Sanchez as the team mascot.

5 years, 53-55 million, take it or leave it Schwartz & Feinsod. If not, let's morn the loss and move on to Tampa Plan B before the draft. I just hope somehow a deal is reached and he doesn't go.

thats not the point, guys act like the only options are trade him or let him walk

as if trying to work out a deal isn't an option and dont even say they tried already or bring up previous hold outs, the 1st one was bad but the 2nd one was understandable on top of that Tanny promised they would go back to the table to keep him in Jet green this year and he still showed up last year to camp with no issues

bring him in and make him the highest paid corner in the league and top paid player 5years/65M(40M guaranteed) with a 25M dollar signing bonus

Yes, those are the only options. If TB is willing to pay him $15 million per year then he will sign with them as soon as this season is over. He's gone. Get as much for him as we can while we can.

no they're not but again I guess some of you have little clue on how contract negotiations work

I've heard Revis say "he wants to remain a Jet" so the first thing that should happen is the Jets need to make an effort to make that happen

this IS the point. And yes, those ARE the only options.

Why not, because it defeats your whole argument?

Tanny is not here. And who gives a shit where he showed up if he missed whole fucking year?! And guess what? Jets were still great against the pass!

I'd rather he left so his groupies like you would move to Revis island located elsewhere.

Why don't you enlighten us, oh Master of Negotiations!

And how do you know Jets didn't try? Ever crossed your mind that it might've been Revis who first gave Jets the finger?

Yes. They should come out public, and offer to make him the highest paid CB under the NEW CBA. 4 years at 8M per.. And when he walks away, the rest of the NFL does too, and they can squeeze his ass.

We've heard Revis say a lot of things. Based on what we know about Revis I think it's fair to assume that he wants to remain a Jet so long as they meet his contract demands. Revis of course would want to be the member of any team in the NFL that meets his contract demands but only until he feels that he deserves more money. Revis saying he wants to remain a Jet doesn't mean anything to me.
