He's gonna be the best player on a Rex Ryan defense at the age of 23 unless Revis remains a Jet. Either way he and Coples have great careers ahead of them.

I think he becomes a pro bowler this season. Hopefully Demario Davis have a breakout season and Coples take the next step.

Hopefully the change of supporting cast doesn't actually contribute to a decline, like D'Brickashaw.

When your job is to write and you don't have anything bad to put out, your going to have to make something up or write something good.

To be fair, D'Brickashaw had a pretty decent year in terms of allowing sacks. But Wilkerson is the star of the defense. He was carrying Pace and Scott's sorry asses.

    cimini is still a d-bag.
he writes that its doom and gloom because we lost 7 starters and than later says they dumped a bunch of old and slow starters.
which one is it? are we screwed by the purge or did we upgrade simply by dumping the dead weight?

This is why I think with the right contract moves and the right picks in the draft, we are one QB away from a future super bowl appearance. We got to the AFC championship game 2 years in a row with a sub par QB. With Idzik running this team, I think we can be something special in the years to come.

Guys like Wilkerson, Cromartie, Coples, Hill, Kerley, Goodson, are all guys who can just break out and become constant threats. Hill, once broken out of his rookie shell, could be dangerous as hell with Holmes and Kerley. Goodson, coupled with a power back, could be scary as hell out in the open. On the defensive side, Coples and Wilkerson matched with a guy like Jarvis Jones or Dion Jordan could be scary as hell.

Unlike some on here, I will not right this team off. I think we are witnessing the beginning of something special right now. I can just feel it

I hope you're right. I will admit, I've been slowly reaching for the green Kool-Aid.

What gives me confidence is Rex's defensive coaching ability. It's the same guy that befuddled Tom Brady in a home playoff game. If we can get some semblance of an offense, we're onto something.

Wilkerson's quick development has been surprising to say the least. Didn't think he would be a force this quickly, but I'm glad. Looking forward the development of Wilkerson and Coples. Hopefully Ellis joins in on the party.

    You got me :)

I think we'll be better than people predict. Maybe not playoff bound, but respectable.

Love the article. Wilkerson is my favorite jet on the team right now. Wilkerson+coples+Ellis, we have are feline for the next decade. Yes I believe in Ellis becoming a solid starter. Hopefully we add jones or Jordan to go along with Barnes. We will have a whole different pass rush this year. Garay has played well when healthy. But also if star drops to nine I think we take him and form the best d line in the league. I'm excited for this upcoming season. I'm really hoping we hold on to revis and sign him long term he will make the pass rush that much better and in all creat more turnovers. We will be better then most people think

Hey! That type of talk is forbidden around here! If you don't talk about rebuilding and having a terrible season next year you are a blind sun shiner. Don't dare talk about positives like Mo Wilk or the youth on defense. Funny how SufferingJetsfan only posts in a thread like this to tell someone else to stop being a homer. LOL. Dude really is suffering! He is mentally incapable of acknowledging how beastly Wilkerson has been.
