i like this. not crazy about giving up picks for an oft injured rb but this is about as good a scenario as any i guess
If we now draft a kick ass guard like Cooper or Warmack we're going to have a potentially sick running game!
Oh i totally agree. that's why i said i'd make the deal in a second  maybe with a 5th or 6th rounder or something thrown in though, never know..
Have a feeling that the Jets will like Cooper more than Warmack. They traditionally are more attracted to athletic linemen. Cooper will remind many of Randy Thomas. He has great movement skills for pulling/zone schemes/pass pro & is also freakishly strong at the point of attack. Warmack is likely a slightly better run blocker & maybe alittle better technique-wise. Both are reasonable choices at 9 or 13. Cooper at #13 would be pretty sweet.
Not so sure I would part with McKnight - he is very well rounded all purpose yardage player - very valuable to the Jets on special teams.
To those of you who dont want to give up a 4th rounder, who in the 4th would you rather have and why? Honest question.
I would MUCH rather draft Joseph Randle (oklahoma state) in the 3rd or 4th round than to trade it for Ivory
Don't want him for a 2nd round pick. If we spent are second rounder on a rb in the draft I think that would be a better choice then to use it on ivy
I'm a bit confused about how the RFA tender works. I saw a lot of posts in this thread about giving a 2nd Round pick, but I also saw Schefter tweet that he could see the Jets giving up a late-round pick for Ivory. So, I guess, my question is: What is the actual compensation for Ivory at this current moment?
Rather have Montee Ball in the midrounds over Ivory if we are taking a risk on a super talented back with injury issues. Ball or Lattimore.
I don't think your new GM will trade away draft picks! He appears to be the kind to collect them...a trade would suprise me.
One interesting thing to note ... Ivory is the only Saints RFA who has not signed the tender. So if the Jets traded for him they wouldn't have to pay the tender contract number. I think that also indicates that he's probably unhappy about the Saints tendering him when they have him burried on the depth chart. There could be some bad blood between the Saints and Ivory at this point and so they may be more likely to part with him for a lower pick than the 2nd, especially since he's scheduled to be an UFA in 2014.
I read that he would have to sign the tender before he could be traded due to the language in his contract.
Oh I didn't see that. If that's the case then obviously we'd have to pay the price of the tender, but the rest of what I posted still applies.
Dont take it as fact it was just a fan on twitter talking to another fan. Just wanted to point out that it may be the case.
I'd definitely give up a 4th rounder for him. 2 big season injuries but none of them involving knees & don't think he's had any big surgeries. Lysfranc & Hamstring injuries. Lysfanc is more of a freak injury & I'm sure doctors checked that injury out to make sure it healed. However, the hamstring does make me worry a little bit because some players have it occur more than once. Ivory/Goodson RB combo would be really sweet. Idzik shouldn't have much trouble getting Ivory on a cheap 2-3 year deal either.
